The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Or in a non-Totalitarian state like America (at least it isn't yet), you could just Google the info.

Come to think of it you can Google any question you have.

I took up a pipe when I turned 40... figured I'd made it that long. Here's a good guide-

http://www.smokingpipes.com/information ... acking.cfm

Other than that- start with something mild and aromatic and then move on if you want. I've been told that you should use one tobacco per pipe, but have found filling the bowl with whiskey for a about 15 20 minutes after a good cleaning will allow you to use try new tobaccos. You may find, though, that you start collecting pipes. Lastly- when you buy a new pipe, if it does not have a carbon liner- don't smoke it outside for the first 3 or 4 times- a breeze will burn it hotter and if you don't have a good coating of carbon, you could get a burn through.
That's about it.

Oh yeah... don't smoke a pipe more than once every few hours, and if you don't use a wooden match, use a specific pipe lighter. Definitely never use a regular Zippo.

Great site Sarge... I love running on those calls for someone who is having respiratory distress and they manage to grunt out "I need my cigarettes".. Or the one lady that had a hole cut in her oxygen mask so she could smoke when she needed oxygen.. And if you have not seen someone smoke out of their stoma..

Get a Churchwarden pipe. Or a Lord Of The Rings replica.

It also helps if you're older. Young fella smoking a pipe looks a bit silly.

Good for you, TJ! Keep up the good work. Quitting any addiction is a pain in the ass. It's still hard for me almost five years later to not think about my substances of choice from back in the bad old days...
