The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hey all,

Wanted to share some pics of my BSG costumes over at the Auction in Pasdena CA. I was placed in charge of two dozen costume volunteers. We managed to get a lot of pictures when no one was looking...

A majority of pictures can be found here:

Heck I'd poop myself if it was just an F-14... Enterprise or Sulaco sets I might need a de-fibulator on stand by

Dave, they are amazing, thank you for sharing.

I watched the auction live on the net and was having an absolute ball, and I wasn't even there!

It looked like the auction was a class act, did you get anything?

The prices did seem absolutely bonkers though!

I guess that was clever marketing on their part, hold the auction just as the final part of the series is on and the hype is at maximum!

Great photos, so say we all.

Andy :)

Glad you all enjoy the pics. It was a blast to meet the director and producer as well as the prop and costume people from the show. We were brought on as volunteers to aid with watching over the sets and props. NBC\Universal was a little leary about having "fans" in costume. But they totally changed their mind once they saw how we handled ourselves and interacted with the civies.

They allowed us to get pics of the sets, props and costume during off times. We even got to play act in some of the sets to add atmosphere. Since I was overseeing the group, I had a chance to roam and get my grubby little paws into everything.

Overall the auction did well. Everything sold for over "One point One Meeeellion Dollars". They actually did sell one of the spaceships. The Raptor went for $60000, plus a 20% auction fee ($12000) and a $30000 shipping fee to Germany. So just a meesly $102,000.

If you're interested in what went for what, here is the after auction prices.

I wish I could have bought something. But I got knews the Friday morning of the auction that an offer I made for a house was accepted. So you are know looking at a new homeowner. So much for spending money on costumes...

Thanks for sharing, Dave. Looks like you had a blast!

Thanks to Clanger I watched the auction online, too – very entertaining.
Would've loved to have bagged something but like you I just bought a house, too.

Mind you, I guess it would be possible to sleep in one of those Raptors; add a microwave, a loo and a sink, bit o' wifi and BINGO – you're living on your own mini Galactica...
