Being referred to as "elitist" and "snobbish" on the OT section had left a sour taste in my mouth... maybe I'm making a huge issue over it as I've seen that the two guys involved seem totally oblivious to the pain that they've caused me.

Anyway, I'm around... just keeping a relaxed attitude towards the forum... it seems that the more I get involved, the more likely I am to get potshots taken at me. I really can't deal with strife right now as I prepare to honour the passing of an old friend.

Thanks for asking if I'm OK pal... it feels good to know that my family hasn't written me off.

I apologize Dom if I hurt your feelings. I am truly sorry, it's just that with this group and on this board I have never felt left out, so when I read that post it threw me for a loop.

I agree with lear, your one of the foundations around here Dom, you were here when I signed up 3 years ago. Anyone that thinks this man is snobish or an elitist hasn't spent enough time around that other major costuming group out there. When or If I ever make it to D-Con or up to a Canadian Con I'll deffinatly be buying this man a brew or 3 for all his hard work.

I'll speak up here, since I believe I was the one who used the term 'elitist'.

Firstly, I would like to make it clear that I did not intend you any offense by what I said. I was referring only to how your matter-of-fact statement seemed to exclude people. It certainly wasn't any reflection on your character. If you did feel upset by my remarks, then I apologise.

I think a whole load of misreading occurred and people just got confused over what was happening. It happens occasionally with this online text stuff.

Secondly, I would also like to chirp in with respect for your contribution to this forum. I've only been here a short while, but most of that time has been spent trawling the archives and seeing just how big that contribution is. It's exemplary conduct.


For the rest, I guess we're all misunderstood at times and some of us are idiots, so just ignore us try not to let us stress you out too much, eh?

I've been lurking since D*Con ended but I felt I really needed to step out from the shadows to offer my affirmation that I think you, Dom, are a pillar of this community. All that you have done and all that you continue to do speaks volumes. The first time I met you, at D*Con '07, I thought you were a bit gruff, but that didn't bother me. Getting to know you better through these forums and at this past D*Con has shown me that you're a fine, upstanding person... despite being Canadian.

I kid, I kid.

Keep up the good work. I know Chris would be proud to see how far the AL has come, and you had a big part in that. You definitely have nothing to apologize for.
