The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I know a few people have bought the Nerf Vulcan, as have I, and I wanted to know "Has anybody had any problems with it?" I fired the thing about 5 times, single shot, and it just stoped working. It constantly jamed, and then the action stoped working all together. I eventually returned it. Anybody else having this problem?

Sorry to semi hi-jack, but... Hey Vicky, do they simply not sell them in the UK, or are they banned for some bizarre reason? Because if they are allowed, I would be more than happy to get one to you.

I'm not sure. I've not be able to find a supplier in this country. I saw the Nerf Maverick in my local Toys R Us but didn't buy any (which I'm kicking myself for now). I think it could just be a case of the UK being behind with Nerf toys. They really don't seem to sell as well over here.

I don't imagine that there would be any problems bringing them into the country as they're brightly coloured so shouldn't fall under the VCRB. At the moment I'm having to watch the pennies but I'll keep your offer in mind for when I've got some more spending money. ;)

EDIT - Damn, Glenn! Do they want one of my arms as well? £70 for a TOY?!?!?!

Good lord 70 Pounds for a Nerf Vulcan. I got mine for 35 bucks over here. Isn't that like 20 Pounds give or take?

Just to go back to Cooter's question-

The Vulcan I bought worked for a bit and then jammed (oh actually I mean it had a stoppage   ).

While under battery power it would work half the time- but if I try to use the cocking handle manually it doesn't work as it should at all.

When I pull the handle back and then try to pull the trigger the gun doesn't fire. I have to push the cocking handle forward a bit, wiggle it, etc and then the gun will fire when the trigger is pulled.

Needless to say it's pretty worthless if you are using it to fire projectiles. I however bought mine solely for looks. 8)

It seems to be pretty hit or miss with the vulcans. Mine has worked perfectly since I got it. A friend of mine bought one and it was DOA out of the box. He returned it and got another one and the new one works great.

I bought two for my boys and painted them. The looked awesome set up under the tree. An hour later my ten year old had the puffy eyes and quivering lip, "Dad, I just got it and it's already broken"

Working at TRU I sold a buttload of Vulcans. But post-Christmas most returned them saying they were broken.
