The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

That's right, folks, I decided to revamp the standard camo pattern of my armor!

Of course, the colors are lighter in the pics due to the flash, but they are much darker than the usual Spataflage.

These colors are also closer to the actual colors used in the film, but still airbrushed on to save time and money.

Hopefully this will help people by not making them need to have their armor repainted, but still having the armor match up with people who did.

Hope you like!

Because the paint job still isn't canon. :P ;)

In all honesty Spat, I'm surprised that you still paint 'em up like that since I naturally assumed that everyone would end up repainting them to match the screen-used ones anyways. They are much better looking now. :)

I was actually somewhat surprised by how many grunts were wearing them 'as-is' at Dragon*Con this year. I guess not everyone is comfortable with a spraycan or a paintbrush. :o

Regardless, it's nice to see that you continue to improve upon your armour. :)

Thanks guys, glad you like them!

And remember, not everyone who buys my armor is involved with the Legacy groups, or goes to conventions, or even knows that they can get the suits re-painted. I would say that more than half the buyers keep the Spataflage.

The only downside for me is that this new paint job takes two hours to do on 3 sets of armor, while the old paint only took about a half an hour. :(

Boo hoo for me.

And I'll keep upgrading the suits, but you guys have to tell me what needs to be fixed. I was happy with the suits the way they were 6 years ago. But I'm not nit picky about my costumes. If it wasn't for Brian whinning and e-mailing me every two weeks about how small the legs were, I would never have upgraded them. I just did it to shut him up.

So if there's something else that needs to be tweaked, feel free to let me know, I can't read minds.

And if you want to move this to the main forum, feel free. I just worry about sticking topics about my stuff in there.

Maybe this will encourage people to check out the OT Forum once in a while! Sheesh! ;)

Like I said, looks great dude. I'd make the base color green slightly darker and greener myself, but I love the rest of the colors. Then again, the green could be dead on depending on the washout from the camera, so it's hard to tell. Regardless, it does look 10 times better this way, and I'm sure I'll sleep better at night knowing this is going to be standard now (I kid you not! ;) ).

It doesn't have a black/charcoal wash on it to dirty it up, but I think that is a good thing. Some people may like a clean look, while others may prefer "been to lv-426 and back" look. This way they can choose for themselves as it's a very simple and quick thing to do and is very subjective to personal taste. Also, by not dirtying the armor up, it gives people a pretty clean canvas and the chance to repaint it should they want it even more movie accurate or something completely different altogether.

I have a feeling though that given this new paint job, and the fact that you believe that there's a 50/50 ratio of people who will and won't repaint their armor... I think that that ratio will change. I believe more people will choose to keep the armor the way you're doing it now because it's much more passable than it was in the past. :)

As for physical pros and cons, I'd have a hard time giving you suggestions on where to improve. The aesthetics of your armor now are also much more improved from what you had years ago. The obvious "tells" are really not tells anymore. There were a few times at D*Con '06 when I saw your new armor sculpts on the various marines and did a double take. Kudos to you, my friend! ;)

All I have to ask is did you intend to make the grey spot on the cod piece look like the naked lady mud flap silohette, or am I reading too much into it again?
