Well shown this basic design to the "Boss" Si.

I`m looking to someone to do a Puter Image of this if at all possible. Mantroon Don`t you DARE,you need getyour kit sorted for DCon. Though would like that.
Maybe Mike Rush if your not too busy or some other who`s not prepping for DCon?

Anyway here`s the pencil drawing



The suggestions from Si for changes are as follows:-
Instead of "Heavy Weapons" could it be "Special Armaments Section".
Also under the skull could we have "CMA" added.
Text above to be in BLACK please.

Lastly Yellow has to be a colour on this (Si`s fav colour),
Si suggestion is doing the Outer rings or moreso the main background (of the skull) in YELLOW.
The the our ring (with UKCM etc) be a Light blue (following UKCM protocol). White text in the Blue Band.
Both thin bands could be WHITE.

As for the skull,that an off white with White pearly teeth. Metal Minigun inc under helmet part.
Helmet could be USCM camo.

I`ve nicknamed this "Screaming Fire Skull".

Glad Si like this one. As I`ve already got the Screaming Fire Skull (only) on my Left Shoulder pouldron (added today). With gunblaze added though & all in colour with USCM cover on helmet.

So any taker on giving us a Puter generated design in colour???

1. The phrase "Special Armaments Section" is either going to have to be very small (barely readable), or stretch a long way around the inner circle.

2. Yellow as one colour of the helmet camo pattern, or just plain yellow all over?

3. By "main background (of the skull)" do you mean the background areas around the skull, or the colour of the skull itself?

4. How big do you want the image/what's it going to be used for?

This will be the FREEBOOTER cloth unit patch. So the size of the cloth patch used for Hardians Wall & Homers Heroes. What`s that 4"?

As for the "Special Armaments Section".
That will fit,I`ve just done a rough pencil,"Armaments" at the top with "Weapons" & "Section" being respectivly either side of it.
Also size as the original "Heavy Weapons" in the patch already.

Now as for Yellow,it would be the Inner circle bakground then the "Screaming Fire Skull" would be over that inc the "SAS" text & under the skull the "CMA" text.

Actually, the helmet should probably be black or very dark grey, cos that camo will be hard to reproduce on a patch.

Will work on that, or maybe just a simpler camo?

Nice Steve

The Skull is just as I`ve painted it on my shoulder pouldron.
Camo cover,Green lobster/ear pieces.
Only difference is I added "firing" effect to the Minigun.
Though as said I only did the skull/minigun Not the whole patch.

sorry to chime in, but a woven patch might be able to get more of the details in, not sure about the camo, but you can ask. Also has the advantage of looking screen printed.

I wasn`t hinting at adding Firing effect. I was just saying on my armour when I painted the skull/minigun I added fire effect.

I think the firing may/may not work.

Martin, I added the minigun barrels as I wanted to incorporate one of Si`s BIG Guns to the patch.
That his Minigun tends to goto most shows,seems fitting to me.

I forgot to show the other two designs I also showed Si.

Thankfully he went for the 1st one ( liked that best too).

This one is the skull Marine head with minigun,but headon view the wings are to represent drops (hence the Dropship wings pin style).



The last one was to show truely the "Special Armaments Section" hardwear off.
I used both "Ole painless" & the Sentry gun (Si had built & took to the NSC 07).



So as said I`m rather happy Si went with the first one.
