The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

This may be old news, but there's a high quality, mid price M870 springer available.

Made by UTG, it's a Chinese copy of Maruzen's CA870 spring powered shotgun.

The "mag tube" is metal as are the cocking bars that attach to the pump grip. Gun is retailing for about $45 or so, fires at about 260 fps and seems to be higher quality than the all plastic (non Maruzen) ones available. It also has adjustable Hop-Up, which is a pretty slick feataure for a gun this inexpensive.

I'm thinking of picking one up myself. :)

Curious about the width of the receiver...

I'd imagine it's the same as the Maruzen. Well, wider with the RIS rail attachment thing... attached.

Is that magazine fixed? The chamber open up when it's racked?

The mag is removeable, and from reports, the eject port cover does move back to reveal the Hop-Up mechanism.

Haven't gotten one for myself yet, so it's all second hand info right now.

That looks like the same cheapo I took apart. The magazine is moulded as part of the receiver. It has a hole to fill BBs. The port is not actuated. The size of the receiver fits inside a real SPAS cage though.

Slightly different one Steve. The box mag is a seperate item, and extras are available for purchase. When you buy the gun you usually get 2 mags with it.

About half the cost of the Maruzen, and double the quality of the cheapie you had. :)

I have one of these with a full stock. It's quite nice although the ejection port does not move. I immediately removed the ugly-ass RIS stuff upon getting home because it just doesn't look right. :P
Now all I need is one of those loading port things & I'm set. ;)

I also have one of the cheapies.... damned thing was made -warped- and sent out. >_<

Rump, are you sure the one you have is made by UTG, and not Maruzen?
