The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi All,

Not sure if anyone would want to come along to this, just throwing it out there.

Sunday 15th July, 11.30am to 5.00pm.

No website, just a facebook page:

http://www.facebook.com/#!/events/424108860967335/

Karyn and I are and a few others are going along.

Small general Sci-Fi event, held in a large country Chinese Restaurant, The Oriental Promise.

Quite a few internal rooms and the grounds outside will also be utilised.

The event itself is a couple of Star Wars guests, several dealers, Dorset Troopers costume group, bouncy castle, and a few other things planned.

We are taking a TARDIS along and the UNIT shooting range, not sure what it will be like but it may be a fun quirky event.

Not too sure what happens at the event, I think it is just a casual meeting of sci-fi fans.

I haven’t been to it before but met the organisers last night and they seemed cool.

I’m sure they would love to have any Aliens, Marines, Predators, or any kind of Sci-Fi / Comic costuming.

If the UKCM want to do something similar to Corsham / Pecorama I think that would be most welcome by the organiser.

Anyone interested leave a note here and I’ll check in with the organisers.

Oh, they have a licensed bar!

Cheers,

Andy

I like the little ones and the nerf range is great fun. Do you want a gun show table again Andy like at Corsham or just the nerf range like Pecorama.

Hi Steve,

Spoke to the organiser and that is a 'yes please' from them. :D

I'm guessing the same sort of thing as Corsham would look great, we can try and get the gazeebo's side by side this time.

Cheers,

Andy

So are we doing the Nerf range for this??????

So that tent, Guns and fun?????

With only a few of us the nerf range will be keeping us busy.

Steve, Jon has asked if we wouldn't mind being available to work the Nerf range, but I think we'll have the gazebo and scrim net like last time.

No scrim net this time, couldn't borrow it. :(

Will have gazeebo's with sides though, for both range and UKCM.

If I do bring some guns I think it will be only the PR, VP70, M82A1, MP5K, UZI, M870.

But are we outside or inside???

Also what time should we be there to set-up??

Outside at the moment Steve, not sure what interior options are available.

I hope we don't to go inside, the weather looks.....changeable, but IO don't think there is room inside!

Event opens at 11.30am, I expect people will arrive before this.

I guess we (Exewing) need to be there at 9-9.30am at the latest, will check though.

Two gazeebo's, shoot range and a Tardis to set up, should take about an hour or so?

Any help will be gratefully received with the set up. :D

Cheers,

Andy

* oops, must have been typing the same time as Munkey!

Just had a quick email exchange with the organiser:

Andy: Hiya, looking forward to the UNITY event at the weekend. Just a quick question, we are putting up the Gazebo’s, TARDIS, Nerf shooting range etc at around 8.30-9am, hope that's okay? Also, the UKCM (Aliens guys) will be bringing a few 'replica' weapons to display in one of the gazebo’s, I'm sure we mentioned this but obviously want to clarify there are no problems with this? The UKCM has a strict 'weapon' policy for public drops. Hope things are going well for the event and fingers crossed for the weather. Cheers, Andy - Exewing Fundraisers.

Kai: Hi Andy, yes this has been all confirmed and is not a problem, I also have the Southern troopers coming along with their gazebo which will be near you guys if that’s ok.

Cheers,

Andy
