The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I know some of us are probably thinking more about Christmas at the moment.

I've just been into my local Game store (Chatham, Pentagon shopping centre) picking up Far Cry 3.
The store manager was on the till and he's an old work colleague of mine at the council from many years ago, so I thought I'd ask if he wants a Marine or more to help promote the game on release day. :)

He was well up for it, so told me to speak to him near the middle of January to finalise details. 8)

Anyone else doing similar can post in here, so we could pool our resources. :)

Official release date is 12th Feb, but not sure if that's just USA (with Europe a day/week/while later) or if that's worldwide.

I would say the thing with doing shop promotion is to keep safe.

Make sure there are people looking out for you and NEVER EVER taking weaponry out of the confines of the shop.

I'm hoping for either nick-a-tron or Glenn to be able to make mine, or I might ask Shahab at work if he wants to assist.

Will also be speaking to the shopping centre's security about the PR I'll have in the shop. :)

Yeah, but the local armed response unit does, and I really advise against meeting them on duty

Let me clarify, folks just need to make sure excitement doesn't override common sense. Don't take any risks and be safe.

I know dude ^^ spoke to my boss again at wukk, he's gunna clear it with the local authorities for us, so all is good ;)

My shopping centre's security usually has direct contact with the neighbourhood police, so I'll probably go through them. :)

Christ, that reminds me of that time at Expo walking into the Fox, when two coppers walked over and said 'Can we have a word' in a very official tone.

Luckily it was followed by 'Can we get a photo with you lot?' but it did bring home that even though I was surrounded by about 500 other dress-up enthusiasts, I was still walking into a pub with a lot of very real looking guns dressed up in camo. Preaching to the converted I know, but it still reminded me to think about what im doing.

Any chance of getting images for promotion, such as those used in the UKCM banners?

I want to get A3-A2 sized pics printed up for putting in the Game shop window a week or two prior to the game release date. :)

I have a mock up using the Marine banner pic from here;

viewtopic.php?p=129090#p129090

but not sure it's big enough to print up to A2-A1 and stay detailed/looking good.

I did it on my work PC today and then lost network and e-mail, so once I can get it on my home PC tomorrow night I'll upload it here to show what it's like. :)

Just a larger version of the Marine banner image would be great. 8)
