The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Howdy do all,

I've found a seller in the US who's got the thomson, g/l, barrel & vent, mag and stock (basically everything barre the shrouds) for sale and I'm contemplating buying them but Im very worried about customs not letting them through.
It's not one piece as it snapped where the Thompson meets the spas under the front of the shrouds.

I've read through the HMC guidlines about importing anything weapon related and apart from being completely confused, Im getting very mixed messages.
For example they say you simply cannot import any replica weapon of anykind yet we have no trouble with Spat's PR/VP-70, the gears of war lancer replicas, stormtrooper blasters etc.

I was wondering if anyone knew a definate answer on this??? Or if anyone has imported the HCG PR in part form?

ANY help or clarification on the matter would be more than awesome.

If it is in parts then it does not resemble anything apart from parts so therefore in theory should be exempt?

Has the guy posted anything like this to UK before could you ask him?

I also find the guidelines confusing,I emailed them in the past and they gave me no more information than what was on their website lol

Sorry I can't help

HCG's Thompson parts are all just resin chunks.
We see resin chunks, customs may see pieces of deadly weapons.

Check with the seller to see if he's shipped previously to the UK and what the outcome was.
Nothing is 100% and of course if laws weren't confusing they wouldn't be laws.
It may just come down to 'I'll ship but if customs nabs them I'm not responsible' from the seller.

He's only shipped some Star wars weapons in the past, he also adds that he put 'Star Wars Prop' on the customs form thingy. They got through with just the VAT etc charges to be paid.

My worry is that because the PR parts look a hell of a lot more like real guns, regardless of what he writes on the form (Aliens Movie Props for example) customs will decide they aren't passable.

I was hoping the fact it's resin may help, but the moving parts won't.

I don't know what to do!

Well the Star Wars weapons are built of real world guns just like the Pulse Rifle.

As long as its in pieces and not built up I personally think you 'should' be fine.
Of course they are weapons parts (be it resin and unusable as weapon parts) and customs may deem yours the exception and confiscate it.

If it's Resin, then there shouldn't be a problem - I know of a Bazooka being imported into the UK without too much fuss...

No, you won't have any problems. They may open to inspect. But, you should be okay. :)
