The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Does anyone know what that music is from? I love it - it has a NIN quality about it.

Heh.

Can't say too much more, but I can let on now the patch has been seen that I was the reference model for the armoured Marines in this trailer, and I asked the guys I was helping out if they could slip our unit patch onto one of the characters. ( Thank god they have a 3D plugin for "Reduce belly and increae muscles" ;) )

So thanks again to Rex for the patch design and Callum for cutting such a good trade deal on the Terry English armour :D

Direct involvement in the developement of the game! That's really cool Scapey! ... Also explains how you knew that it wasn't being released at the end of March I guess. :(

When/if it finally appears I wonder if it'll be big enough to have some sort of launch event like the most recent COD games? It would be great to see all you UKCM guys in full costume at a UK launch or something like that. :like:

Regards.

John. :)

For the record, I was NOT involved in the production of the game itself - I helped out with the photo reference for the Colonial Marines in the trailer.

Ah I see. Sorry for the misunderstanding.

The trailer is great though. It must've been good to have played some part in its production alone.

Apologies again if I've inadvertently posted something that looks misleading.

John. :)

No mention of it on any gaming site and if it had been released, I'm sure it would have been headline news, so I think your co-worker's been mis-informed or is winding you up.

I think they must be referring to the new trailer mistaking it for a demo download. I can't wait for this game, been waiting since it was announced on ps2. The delay again im hoping is to polish it more. It does make me worry a little though.

The film Moon.
I thought that soundtrack sounded eerily familiar!

Okay, so I just sat through 11 and a half minutes of the game walkthrough...

VIDEO LINK - Aliens Colonial Marines Video Walkthrough

...and I have to say, I may just have yet another reason to upgrade from my old Atari 2600 game system. Although I like the idea of revisiting LV-426 -- mostly because I get very nostalgic about things like this -- it does start opening up a can of worms where suddenly we have all of these questions (like the ones already mentioned here), because geeks like us want everything to make logical sense to us... even if it is just a story. ;)

The graphics look fantastic, the gameplay looks smooth and entertaining, and the detailing is flippin' outstanding!

If it wasn't clear earlier, I haven't been a gamer for years -- I stopped right about when Quake III came out. I'm not a kid anymore, and I just don't have that sort of time to waste playing games. It truly was addictive. However, I would definitely encourage my younger brother to pick this up for his X-Box.

Better at is home than mine. ;)

Bear in mind that the gameplay video we've seen was running on top $ PC hardware and the Xbox 360/PS3 Versions won't look anywhere near as good.

I think the "anywhere near as good" is a bit of an exaggeration. I've played Skyrim on 360, Ps3 AND a full res PC version and it's not THAT great a margin.

I dont think the pc is the lead platform so i would guess the game is probably being developed mainly for the consoles so i would agree that there would not be a great margin between all formats. I would bet the ps3 gets the least amount of love as always

My nephew's gaming PC is four years old and can run games at 1900x1200 with full anti-aliasing and such on.

Some current gfx cards cost between £500-1,000, so would be considerably better.

PS3/360 at 1080 isn't anywhere near as good. :)

Nor anywhere near as expensive.
The graphics will only be as good as the developer makes them.
Also there's FAR too much emphasis on graphics. GAMEPLAY is what matters.
