I'm traditionally humourless, so bear with me; but how is this funny and not just extremely arrogant? Sounds like the sort of self-important "prank" that the leading fraternity at college would pull in a parade, to me at least.

I don't see this is worth jeopardising our standing with the organisers for. Even by asking, IMO. Additionally, it might be noticed by the Police and the City who will be wanting to reopen the streets.
