The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

We have some excellent new Marines! Welcome, welcome and welcome!

gt3stuntman- you're well on your way to gearing up with us at a drop!! Awesome!

Belluthien- Can't wait to see your Ripley!!! Looking forward to it a great deal! Are you going to make more than one version? I think I speak for many of us, we'd love to see a Ripley geared up as she was in the end of Aliens- with the PR and Flame unit taped together... the Reeboks might be tough to create though... Looking forward again to seeing you pull off Aliens 3 Ripley! Welcome Aboard!

xenosphinx- glad to have you "de-lurked" and joining us!! Welcome!

TechnoCop- Welcome to the Corps! And got a HGC PR on the way, 'eh? Congratulations Marine!

Hello

I have been finding this site a great help as my 12 year-old son has become a great fan of Aliens. He is currently building a pulse rifle out of cardboard and balsa wood. This evening he had us watch Aliens 2 again so that I can help him build some body armor that is accurate enough for his standards. Thanks again for all the good info we found.

Outstanding! We look forward to his (and yours!) works in progress. As for armor building, there is some information about using the Pepkura method of printing out patterns on cardstock, and using bondo and fiberglass / resin crafting some very nice armor. You'll have to use the search function, I can't recall exactly which thread it's in, sorry!

Looking forward to seeing some pics of his PR!

Hey all.
I have been a fan of Aliens since I have first seen the film. I was a member of this board before, but for some reason, I entered a stage where I wasnt really into Alien anymore. Well, I am back and will hopefully be around the board a lot. I have some Colonial Marine projects that I hope to work on in the future and will post them here if all goes well. :D

Hi Hollis!

So glad you're excited to see my Ripley. I can't believe how jazzed I am by this whole thing. I'm glad to hear that many of you look foreward to this.

I've been asked by friends to consider making Ripley from the end of Aliens, just so I can yell "Get away from her, you bitch!"
Lol. I will be looking into it for the future.

I'm not so good on the terminology yet. This, in spite of having seen Alien and Aliens recently. The Reeboks, is that the thing she gets in to fight? I would have NO idea how to rig that. And the PR and Flame unit, is that the gun she carried at the end of the movie?

the PR/Flamer is the gun from the end of the film, the Reeboks refer to the Reebok bugstompers she wears in the movie, it's a pair of sneakers.

Hello everyone,

I am a big fan of the Aliens movie franchise! I especially like the large kits from Aliens and other sci-fi movies and TV shows. Other sci-fi: Space, Above and Beyond; Star Wars; Last Starfighter; Predator; Terminator and various other sci-fi shows and movies.

I have been building models since I was 12. In last decade I started customizing existing 3.75" action figures and vehicles. After growing tired of waiting for models I wanted to see; I began scratchbuilding vehicles using evergreene styrene and plastruct materials to construct ground combat vehicles. Also moved on to custom building 3.75" figures in past year.

I hope to learn mold, casting, sculpting as I continue with my projects. I can do more with molded parts to include faster assembly. Right now it's just me, plastic, few parts, and Xacto blade.

I have seen a lot of custom work out here and I hope to get to that level of expertise and detail!

I also hope to find some large kits so if anyone has information on some good kits I would appreciate that. Some I am searching for:

3' Sulaco Resin Kit
2' Acclimator
1/48 Aliens Dropship
1/48 Last Starfighter Gunstar
2' Aliens Nostromo

Welcome C130IM to the Corps! We look forward to seeing some pics of your work! (especially Aliens... :D)

Belluthien- yes, as Darkwingstalker wrote, the Reeboks were a pair of sneakers made for Ripley and Bishop. You could probably find something decently close, and with a little shoe paint and grime, make them look close enuff! :D :D

Howdi. Been meaning to say 'hi' for a while.

Fantastic site which makes great reading for any Aliens fan! Love all of the behind the scenes info and pictures.

Not sure I'm one for costuming, but I really admire the work and attention to detail on display. Really must make an effort to attend a 'drop' sometime this year, and see you all in action. I bet every formation really is a parade, as someone once said! And I'm more than willing to lend a hand behind the scenes if needed.

Big fan of Alien and Aliens, and am really looking forward to the Blu Ray release. Such a shame how the 'franchise' (jeez I hate that word) has dropped in standards...let's hope Ridley can correct the balance.

Can't wait to see the opening of Alien, Hudson's last stand in medical, and the power-loader vs queen dust up in high-def glory.

Hi folks,,

I'm a fan of the Aliens movies and I'm here to gain some knowledge about the Aliens Pulse Rifle. I have the HCG but I'm not happy about the barrel droop. So I'm working on installing a real Thompson TM1 and make it a working PR.

I've been around for a long time. I'm on multiple forums on the net (including FX-Sabers and RPF).

Regards,,,

Hello everyone, although I joined several years ago, Ive had a few extended absenses.
Ive had to good fortune to be advised by Nick-a-Tron and Mike Rush, and Callum aka "Vito"

For those of you I have not met online, my name is Vito Michael D'Aiuto III, and I live in Huntington Connecticut USA. I work for Sikorsky Aircraft, now entering my Tenth year.

I am a retired USN Hospital Corpsman who served with elemets of the 1st and 2nd MARINE Divisions, USMC. My hobbies are sci-fi, model building , road cycling, SCUBA, and WWII re-enacting.
