The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Was wondering if anyone has any pictures of a Screen Used VP70 in high res? I'm repainting and detailing my cap VP-70 tomorrow - and I figure if I do it right the first time, there won't need to be a second. I found threads in the weapon archives with links to pictures of veeps, but the site has crashed down, and I was hoping someone might have saved the photo?

thanks in advance.

As far as I know the screen used VP70 wasn't painted, it was 'off the 'shelf'' as it were.

Thought as much, but wanted to confirm - Looks like I'll just be sanding off all the toy company logos and detailing it then, thanks for the quick response.

I think most folks pain the body a flat or semi-gloss black, with the top slide a 'gun metal' finish.

Excellent pics ...Willie!
It seems a background or stunt version...

Here is the original working VP70 used in the movie...
(...not ...in my collection!)

First stage finished, VP-70 sanded down, weight added for a more realistic feel, Dremelled off part of knuckle removing toy company watermarks. Waiting for milliput to dry now before the first spray. We ended up going a lot more in depth on the modifications then we planned.

Of course, you're not spray painting a Imitation Firearm in the UK. That goes without saying ... ;)

I am of course spraying it Orange. I wouldn't dream of circumventing the UK firearm regulation rules.

Any time.

I keep an inventory of pics as part of my running gag line. You never know when you'll need the following funny ones:

My 70 is pretty much painted up now, Except for the fact that despite reenforcing the back heavily, it's still breaking off.

Which is really irritating. Other then that, just weathering it with a little boltgun metal, and it's done. after repairing the cracks that is.

Thanks for the offer Mike, but now it's nearly done I'd hate to see one looking totally different and know I blew it :D

Finished. Me and milliput have bonded exponentially over the course of this build.
