The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've not seen that before, cheers PVB.

They only announced it today. :)

Back in January they had part of the Mule as their Twitter avatar pic, which I commented on and they just gave me a

They answered my questions (How big (scale/length), How soon (to pre-order) and How much ($)?) about the press release:
Quote:
The mule itself is 13″x6″x4″ (not including the side fins) and the base is 15″x11″.
The development work is done and now we just gotta make ‘em

I’m going to guess and say we’ll be shipping by this summer.

As for the price, nothing’s final yet. But it will be *much* less expensive than the BDR (of course).
Keep in mind it’s heavy resin, so it costs a bit more from a raw materials standpoint. But having said that I think you can expect it price out in the range of other high-end, licensed prepainted kits you may have seen from folks like Kotobukiya.

It would seem that the rumours/requests about a possible Hero Mal Reynolds Pistol are true, as QMz confirmed they're making one:

His is #30. Mine is #79, so I'm guessing(hoping!) that mine's in the current batch being made, so hope to get mine in the next month or so. :)

I'm not a huge Jayne fan... but I will have to pick this one up. Heck since my wife still owes me the Atlas of the Verse and a keychain maybe I'll get this added to the order...

Just got an e-mail from QMx:
Quote:
Hi Stephen,

Your BDR is crated and ready to ship. She takes off tomorrow - leaving from Florida.

I've attached photos of the finished product. I will contact you with tracking information shortly.

Please let me know if you have any questions.

I look forward to hearing what you think about your customized Serenity!

Thank you and have a great day!
Beth

:D

Here's a few of the pics she sent, including the 'extra' I ordered; the missing Primary Buffer Panel:

Size as per Woody's post. :)

As an idea of scale, here's Captain Malcom Reynolds (aka Nathan Fillion) with the prototype at it's first showing at San Diego Comic-Con last year:

I was gonna have the BDR on the dining table in my living room, but as there's no power points nearby, I'm gonna have it on the cupboard area just to the side/behind my TV:
Image

Artist's impression of how it'll look:
Image

and how it'll look when I'm sitting in my armchair in front of the TV:
Image
I think I got the scale wrong on that last pic, so it'll look a little smaller, but not much. :)
