Hello Aliens Legacy members and staff!
New user here. Stumbled accross the site while googling for infor about pulse rifles. I didn't see an introductions thread so I thought I'd start one.
I'm a 29 year old Alien fanatic from Maryland, USA, and I'm stoked about the idea that there's a community of like-minded Alien nuts here! I've been a fan of the series ever since I was a kid saw the second film on VHS as soon as it hit the rental shelves and my older brother's friend played it for us at a birthday party. To this day Giger's alien is the only movie monster that genuinely scared the livin' HECK out of me (had nightmares about those things for years!), and now I have all the movies on DVD and watch them regularly. My favorites are still the first two films. I estimate I've seen Aliens(1986) at least 40 times, and Alien(1979) maybe 10 times or so.
I'm also a firearms enthusiast (yeah, I know, not an easy hobby to maintain in the Peoples Republic of Marylandistan) and I have this crazy idea in my head that I'd like to modify a real semi-auto Thompson rifle chambered in .45ACP to look like an M41A pulse rifle. It would be a VERY expensive project (the Tommy gun alone runs about $1000 new) and with possible gun control legislation on the horizon it may become impossible, especially if I chose to use a real SPAS-12 shotgun in the build, as those weapons may be the target of some new anti-gun legislation on the horizon by politicians that get all of thier info about guns from the movies

If the project ever gets off the ground I'll be sure to post pictures throughout the build.
In the meantime I'm thinking about doing a test run on an airsoft Thompson + SPAS-12 if I can find all the componants needed. Not sure yet what I plan to do. Still in the research phase for all of these crazy project ideas I've got.
Anyways, not to ramble on and on.. but I look forward to getting to know everyone, and I'll see you on the boards! Everyone have a great day! -Artifical Person ("You didn't say anything about an android being onboard, why not?")
