The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Too Pretty to Die

Well working at Toys R Us, this past Friday we got in the new Terminator Salvation toys. Some interesting things... Made by Playmates, neither of the 2 John Connor figures (3 3/4" and 6", there is no 12" though there are figures in the line) look like Christian Bale, which is disappointing honestly since the Batman toys look like him. And you can't even tell the 3 3/4 inch John is John since he's wearing some sort of goggle and bandanna, he honestly looks like someone playing paintball or airsoft.

I am also quite upset at the push for the "Terminator" main character. Dress up sets, different figures of him, etc.

Oh and the toy where the joke writes itself: We have a foam Endo fist with a hard plastic gauntlet to give the appearance of a mechanical hand and forearm. When a button on the toy is pressed it vibrates something fierce! The name of the toy? "Terminator Power Fist". Yup.

Thats just too easy, even for me.

The 3 3/4 line looks semi intresting, I'm waiting to see the HK and A-10 there supposed to release if the Warthogs not a GI-Joe re-pop I may get it.

The reason that the John Conner figs don't look like Bale is that Bale was unhappy with some of the batman toys and cranked down on the likeness rights. Playmate was still in talks with Bale about releasing a figure in future waves with his face.

I have been waiting to get the T600 voice changer unfortunately the Toys r Us near me hasn't gotten them yet. I also need to pick up the "power fist" as I see it being pulled from the market like the vibrating Harry Potter broom from a few years back. LOL

It actually looks pretty decent to me! Not 100% like the T1 flying HK but close enough. :)

Hot Toys is releasing a dead on accurate 1/6th John Connor. Friggin' Expensive though, $150-180. There's several excellent "John Connor" heads available on some 1/6th forums I'm on, probably snag that one, if I can get the Dragon WWII flight jacket everyone has all of a sudden been snatching up! :?

Oh yeah we got the HK too. It is pretty awesome!

I have seen the pictures of the Warthog and pilot on the back of one of the toys... it most certainly is not a GI Joe Rattler, Hasbro still has the molds and Playmates makes the Terminator toys. However if they release more resistance figures they will be commandeering Joe vehicles.

Let's not forget that Playmates is also making the new Star Trek toys, some of which are in the 3 3/4" size. That means Endoskeletons swarming the bridge and killing Chekov!

You bet bro, I'd be happy to! I've got most of it in boxes, much of it will have to be sold, my Vintage Joes, etc. I sold 95% of my Germans to pay bills. :|

I've just finished my Fantasy Pub, I'm overdue on pics of it. Got dwarves, archers, knights, Conan, cleric, a bad-ass elven female fighter, Bilbo drinkin' and warming his feet by the fire.

A big Pirates of the Caribbean display, based on the ride, not the film. I built all the pirates, and they are gathered around a huge pile of loot, chests, etc. drinkin' away...

Next up is a Sci-Fi Space Station Bar. It'll be called "Hudson's Hangout", run by none other than one of our favorite Marines- Hudson! Thanks to Rook's story, Hudson survives, finally gets outa the Marines and opens up his own bar. I've got one of Lonnie's Hero Heads Hudson that I'll be painting and "aging" to look like an older Hudson.

It will be a gathering of my SciFi figs- At the Sideshow Dejarik table (the Star Wars Holographic game that Chewie and R2-D2 played) might be Malcolm Reynolds and Han Solo. Jayne Cobb will be there also. 2 Starship Troopers, a Predator (mebbe eating a burger, fun way to show off the wide open mandibles), a Jedi or two, a Colonial Marine (natcherly!), Dom's "I want you!" pic will decorate the wall, as will a head of a Alien if I can locate one, a older Clone Commander, Jack O'Neil of SG-1, some custom characters I've built, and so on. The bouncer may be a Kerebos Panzer Cop. Perhaps a Endor Commando will be there too. And assorted alien characters of course!

The interior will look like a space station. One wall will have a "picture window" of a starscape that I've saved for years. The bar will be in the center, either side of the dio will be partially raised to show the figures in the rear. EL lighting around the perimeter, mebbe Jar Jar Binks' head mounted on the wall

Current size of both taverns is 18" x 24". Future expansion plans will be 24" x 3'. (as soon as I make space in my garage. 1/3 of the garage space will be devoted to 1/1 Costuming Props and 1/6th displays. I can't wait to display my custom WWII SAS Jeep!

I'll post pics of some of my characters. I do mainly Fantasy, Pirates and Sci-Fi characters now. A Modern Military every so often. Still have scads of WWII Americans, a entire British Red Devils squad- all custom, my version of a modern Adventure Team HQ. and so on and so on!

I play with my dolls too.

Uh, I mean I make dioramas of my 1/6th scale stuff. Currently, Angel and Spike are living in Barbie's dream home as a couple with their wacky (also a couple) roommates of Blade and Van Helsing.

What?! Don't judge me!
