The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Actually, the correct response is:

"You're entitled to your opinion... no matter how wrong you are!"

:D

I've liked Atlantis since launch, but more since SG1 was canceled.

I liked Atlantis because it gave me more opportunity to perv on Amanda Tapping...

Erm, did I say that out loud?

Seriously, I've been a Stargate fan since the beginning. I'm not surprised Sci-Fi cancelled it. They just don't seem to know when they're onto a good thing.

What do you expect when the person in charge at sci-fi has stated they don't even like sci-fi.

The down side is the fact that the new person in charge of programming (Bonnie got a promotion) is also not a SF fan. :(

Thats a bit like having the Pope in the Vatican not believing in the Almighty isnt it?

On Stargate though i lost interest when RDA left. I like Col. Mitchell, hated Vala with a vengance and the Ori sucked big time. Atlantis wasnt much better.

Hmm...I don't know what you're talking about with cancelling Atlantis. This Friday is an Enterprise Maration (assuming because of Laborday weekend), but Sept 5 (the usual preview night for Atlantis), they will be running the show again.

What we mean is that they won't be making a new series. Series 5 (the one airing now) will be shown but after that, no new episodes. :(

Apparently there will be more movies and there's talk of another spin-off series called Stargate Universe but it's not quite the same.

I really like Claudia.. She has nice... Uh.. Smile yes.. That's it.. She has nice smiles :D

Never got into Atlantis other then the pilot movie.

My Daughter who watches with me at times likes RDA and also says that Claudia smiles a lot.

Not even getting into the new show:
Lost in space/Voyager

I'm going to give Universe a chance. I hated the idea of Atlantis when it started.

Well, they ARE putting lost and another fistful of cheesy "horror" movies that even Roger Corman would think twice about making into their lineup, so I think it's only a matter of time..

I liked Stargate SG-1 a lot, but my interest faded a bit when they got onto their new thing where pretty much every episode is doing X to defeat the Ori. I liked it better when each episode was just exploring a new world, part of the fight with the system lords happened once in awhile and that was it.

I've found Atlantis lately to be closer to the original SG-1 and I've enjoyed it quite a bit. I'm quite disappointed to see that it's canceled.

I heard that when Farscape got pulled, Bonnie said they were going to move to more "earth based" stuff because
1. There was too much space based sci fi on.
and
2. her hubby liked Stargate better.

Then I guess they decided that "Hey, horror is really sci fi if you squint at it.."

I consider Horror to be SciFi. So do most people.

I hate the monster of the week shows but yeah.

I don't really consider that kind of stuff to be sci fi.. It's like the sci fi channel caught the Voyager syndrome..

Heck, I think they had one on at one point that was trying to find every reason they could to show spraying blood and organs scattered all over..

If the movies are as pointless as Stargate: Continuum was, they might as well forget the whole project altogether right now.
