The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Well, it looks like they don't know what they're talking about...the fact that any of the SW prequels made that list proves my point :?

According to YAHOO users.

That list was a joke. Iron Man #1? WTF?!?

Glad they still remember our movie though.

ALIEN was #20 wasn't it?

Seems like most ot the voters could only remember the
movies they have seen in the past few years.... their
long term memory has died...

Another one of these polls that put the Star Wars films in the top 5... 6 Star Wars films and only one of them is any good..... no Star Trek films in the list.. :?
What a Crap Poll.....

OK... Pretty obvious where this thread might be headed.

What's everyone's personal top 5?

Really hard to narrow it down to 5 films. And it does depend on my mood at the time. I use films as inspiration for my costumes- so at any time my "Best Sci-Fi" list could change dramatically.

But for me the 5 with "staying power" have to be... (In no particular order)

- Aliens
- The Terminator
- Star Trek II
- Predator
- Robocop

(Honourable mention to Empire Strikes Back, John Carpenter's The Thing, Blade Runner and Mad Max- although MM is more of an action movie).

Personally I don't think movie adaptations of comic book superheros counts as true sci-fi. It's more like fantasy such as Conan the Barbarian.

It IS hard to narrow down to 5 films but I'd have to say these:

1. Aliens
2. Alien
3. Terminator 2
4. Predator
5. Blade Runner

But then there are others which come close like Terminator, Dune and (don't laugh!) Roman Holiday with Audrey Hepburn & Gregory Peck; lovely film.
