I've got some news I've been dying to share with someone, so who better than you guys n' gals?

OK, as of 20:06 last night, I am a Lieutenant Junior Grade and Chief of Security/Tactical on the NCC-63852 USS Black Hawk.

the story is that it's a play-by-email Star Trek sim, and the Black Hawk is an Akira Class vessel. I am the Chief of Security/Tactical for said vessel, and my rank is Lieutenant Junior Grade. (yes, i had to take a slight demotion, but oh well )

so that's my exciting news...

Coincidently in a personal Star Trek fan fiction I wrote- I am the Captain of the USS Ulysses (NCC-70188) which happens to be an Akira class starship.

The Akira is my favourite as well.

Next to the refit Enterprise A.

The akira looks nicer... but the steamrunner has more photon banks... im not a trekkie by the way, i just love star trek legacies on the Xbox lmao. anyway... thread hijack! congrats on the officer position, security have yellow shirts right?

Yellow is the security upgrade they got in Next Gen, I guess they got sick of the Red and what happened in the Original series. hehe.

Yeah, "Red Shirt" became synonymous with expendable.

Even on Next Gen, DS9, voyager the Gold shirts died out alarmingly.

It's Operations.

In the TOS Command wore gold, Operations wore red. In TNG's era the colours are reversed.

This was poked fun at in the DS9 episode "Trials and Tribbilations" in which Sisko and company time travel back to Kirk's era. After putting on Starfleet uniforms of that time period Doctor Bashir asks Capt Sisko and Cmd O'Brien, "Aren't you two wearing the wrong color?"

Well Sarge thats why I perfer the Klingons.

If you can do the Job you do it , if not you get shot or turned into dogfood. If you think you need a promotion you just have to eliminate the guy ahead of you. Nice and simple. LOL

No color coding to worry about either.
