The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

I've been playing around with Lego Digital Designer, and have started on a little model that I wanted to share with you all. It's not Aliens related, but I hope you like the WIP nonetheless. So far I have assembled the turret for a robot tank.

Hey, I like that! And while on the topic, how easy is it to use the LEGO editor?

The editor is really easy and forgiving. 15 minutes with the interface and you get used to it. There are some maddening quirks like not all colors being available or that not all parts can be ordered. Overall, I like it.

I started off trying to build a UD-4L dropship but I realized quickly my skillz were not up to it yet, so I just started ad-libbing.

Okay, here's the second part of the build, the tank's hull:

There's one more part left to do-- the hover propulsion system.

That looks great, but why a tank????

I think you should scrap that and start a APC or dropship

Well, as I said earlier, my skillz aren't quite there yet, but that was my plan. 8)

Very nice! Let me know when you figure out how to do a dropship. :D

Have you found a site to download plans? The link to
fan made plans on Bricklink is down.

I added the hover propulsion to the hull, made a few tweaks and, viola! My robot tank.

looks quite nice... like something the lego group would actually produce as a series of kits. :)

Glad it's working for you. I downloaded the program and tried installing it on my computer, but then it gave me a notice saying I needed to update the driver for my video card.

I have no idea how to do this.
Guess I'll have to go out, buy some LEGO sets and try building a dropship that way.
