The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Greetings all,

Just went through the forum and there seems to be some confusion about a current shipping model of an MG42 airsoft gun. Anybody know of one, who makes it and who sells it?

Looking to update my smartgun...

Thanks!

DenTrinity as well as a few other online stores sell an airsoft Electric MG42/MG3

(The MG3 is an updated version of the MG42. It looks essentially the same. The real steel version of the MG3 is simply modified to fire 7.62mm NATO rounds instead of the 7.92mm Mauser rounds).

All metal except for the stock which is plastic made to look like wood. Cost is US$2,000

There's a slight issue with it though if you plan on using it for a SmartGun. The MG3, like most airsoft uses the pistol grip to house the electric motor, and its position can not be changed. As you know, the SmartGun has had the pistol grip from the MG42 removed.

Another option that a few of us have been considering, is placing the internals from the M14 airsoft electric rifle into the body of an MG42. The electric motor of the M14 is configured so that the pistol grip is not needed.

If you don't need the MG42 to fire, I'd recommend contacting Matsuo for an awesome resin MG42 replica (cast in black resin) which a few members have converted into a SmartGun.

Yeah...what he said...Jesse D, Steve L, Jon A, all have SG rigs in various states of assemblage, I'm shure they can chime in.

Oh..is that an accessory rail on the top cover of that DEN?
Wacky..LOL

I believe that is the modified Shoei using a custom hacked gear box, possibly a Marui Version III. The motor is housed in the pistol grip therby rendering it un-suitable for SG convesion. It sounds like the man just want a Airsoft MG-42 though. Shoei of Japan makes theirs powered by an external air source. They are expensive though .. either the CO2 or AEG versions.

I've been trying to find a MG42 or SARAC 53 but none forsale. My MG34 is welded as a semi-auto only:( I guess if this was Star Wars site, It would be very popular. Right now, I'm trying to buy a real working used VP70Z. I will post some pics of that baby whenever I get that.
