The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

i heard that they may do another run on the most popular hot toy aliens figures.anyone know anything about that? the neca stuff is nice but hot toys just bitch slaps them and these came out in 2006!. Admittedly they didnt get the faces at all correct but the technology wasnt there and anyway they are awesome. Ive got a pristine hicks, a used vasquez and a used hudson. I never picked up drake because he looked a bit rubbish and apone is AWOL these days. Also has anyone got the neca hicks and shot gun damage alien...silly question lol. is it any good.

Hot Toys stuff does look really good, always a good investment too.
Slippery slope though, I picked up an Iron Man MkIII as one off - now have Mk I through VII and War Machine...
Would love to pick up Hicks et al at some point.

I've got the NECA two-pack, and it's great, esp. for only thirty notes :)

Gonna need to see some pics of the squad when you've moved in - remember that they should be the first thing you unpack (apart from the kettle and tea-bags obv.)

Cheers,
Doug

I had to sell my marines but my Powerloader, Alien Warrior and Cleaner Pred are the focal point of my collection.

They are VERY dated compared to newer HT figs.

In regards to a new set of figs, the HT PR man said during an interview that they are trying to make the rarer HT figs available again when and if the licensing is approved. We've already seen the AvP Scar and Celtic Preds re-released, along with Predator 2 and Terminator. I believe he mentioned they are trying to produce Aliens figs again along with Hellboy/Rambo.

New marines would be very hard to resist, as would Hellboy.

Cheers,

i know what you mean about slippery slope. I was ill and reacquainted myself at home with the film predator. Bought a new dutch hot toy soon after with a used but in good condition original predator. not really into the different variations of the pred clans but saw the royce hot toy from the predators film with that awesome drum magazine auto shottie and frag rounds and just had to get it.Royce arnie and hicks are my pride and joy. Almost got an apone the other day but it was a bit expensive.I paid more for hudson and hicks but i wasnt prepared to pay that much for the sarge. If i can get a cheap drake then may be i'll get him but ive got vasqie so probably not.

hey guys i need some advice. i really want to get some alien hot toys but im not keen on the early stuff atall that ive seen. Now the newer avp alien warrior in black and brown i am rather taken with as they have nice shiny domes instead of ridges and you can see into the dome to the skull below. has anyone got one of these and are they as cool as they look or perhaps im overlooking something else.the avp aliens just look better to me but all i have is you tube to go by.

ok havent been here for a while.chains when buying houses suck big time. anyway......ive got a avp alien warrior which is cool and a pred alien queen just because their worth loads and i could get it for a good price due to a little paint dammage around the torso. ive got a new dog alien which is immense and highly recommended and i bought an alien warrior from the aliens line but sent it back. it was a repaint version and it had that awesome cockroach feel to it. he looked really menacing and i felt it looked much better than the avp warrior. however i didnt listen to the advice the internet was giving me and ignored the serious issues of paint chipping. the one i bought had the rubber and paint rubbed off in the new box around the jaw (disaster) ,the shoulders and the back.essentially where the packaging had rubbed seriously over the years of storage. yes the joints were ubber weak but i could of lived with that. learned the hard way......
essentially you are taking pot luck but the areas that consistently get damaged ,ripped etc in the box havent happened to my dog alien. the shoulder ridges (like the big chap which i dont have) are made of hard plastic and are not rubber painted. my alien warrior from avp does have issues around these areas but thankfully they are minor, no rips, i caught it in time and the alien is black so its hardly noticeable. knowing what i know now im happy with what i have but you are rolling the dice every time unless you are buying off someone that you can inspect it fully before purchase....very hard.
will post pics soon.

I think you are thinking of the pending Neca Powerloader and Ripley figures as being out in October (or soon in general).

The new versions of Ripley and the Power loader from Hot Toys are not even up for Pre-order yet, which always occur far in advance of the actual figure release. Once you see the pre-orders officially open up, you can then you can count on 6+ months till they actually ship. Until then the release date is just endless guessing and waiting. Could be months if not a year+ away.

oh im a tad confussed. saw a comic con you tube bit that had a new powerloader with ripley next to a new ripley from alien with joansie....i presumed it was hot toys as it was next to other hot toys. and defo in 1/6 scale. there is talk of a powerloader 2.0..if its the one i saw the powerloaders much more weathered and ripley has real hair. may be cheaper new than trying to get the original which is insanely expensive

neca queen available from october for pre order onwards in britain and bishop is with series 3 a la dog alien and some dude from alien due also oct. The neca powerloader pics ive seen shows just a powerloader....empty....no ripley. would love to give the powerloader a proper driver for a change.

im really thinking about springing for a powerloader from hot toys as its my last holy grail wants but if a new better one is comming out then should i wait?
what do you guys think?

No, your right that the new Hot Toys figures (2.0 w/real hair, and powerloader) were indeed shown at SDCC, but there is no release date and pre-orders have not even started on them. So they are a long ways away from actually being available.

I was saying the October release dates are from Neca products.

Personally, I don't have the Hot Toys powerloader either and I am content to wait it out. It may take a while, but I prefer to get 2.0.

your the voice of reason. i really shouldnt buy the loader yet. 2.0 looks sweet and perhaps they have fixed the hoses breaking off issues. im actually really loving neca stuff at the moe. they have totally upped their game. ed 209 robocop is sweet as.if neca do a loader with thatmuch detail i can die happy lol

people are selling the powerloader for stupid amounts. someone saw the voice of reason with the impending 2.0 version comming next year hopefully and put his new loader down to 600 quid. after no one touched it i bagged it for 300.i'll put this one on display and keep the 2.o one when i get it as an investment.ive now got my own holy grail items-the loader, tech com kyle reese (son named afetr him) and hicks.after working my arse off for ages and running a new home with all the sh1t that goes with that ive reached my goal. i can now say that bar the ripleys comming whenever they do my collection is complete. thank god im not into marvel lol
slippery slope indeed

with the money i saved on the loader i may invest in a ripley head......any good one out there?

I'd wait until the 2.0 loader comes out and but a spare Rioley head from that.
That's my intention.

i'll be getting both just cant wait really and a drop of 300 quid is awesome.ripley seems to be more accurate on the 2.0 version as in has all the webbing.not much else really from what i can tell. she's an accessory after all. the loader is much more detailed and weathered. im guessing it'll retail much like the new ed 209....300 quid.

More like £400-£450, the 209 didn't come with a figure. Think more like the Batman Armoury price.

The tubes are easy to fix, I broke off all of mine before they snapped and fit pins inside, they are going nowhere :)

I'm in the process of upgrading the light on the top and I'm adding more weathering. Apart from the Ripley figure, I'll have no need for the 2.0, it doesn't appear to be a new sculpt unlike the ED-209.

come to think of it your right.it doesnt look much different from the original. a little detail and a slight ripley change but thats it really.i am pumped for the 2.0 version just because maybe just maybe theres some marines on the way.

im looking forward to slotting in a 7 inch hicks to the neca powerloader lol .put that with the up comming queen and that would be so cool.
