The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yeah. I sent back my application to change my name and photo, along with my old passport, by recorded delivery last wednesday. The post office tracking service shows it as delivered on thursday before 9am but the passport office's website says its still not received.

Probably means its at the bottom of a pile somewhere.

So I just saw on Dragoncon FB about a "Inaugural Intergalactic Military Ball" for all military scifi costumers.

I couldn't get a link for the post on the DC Facebook group, but a little at work copy/paste. She was also getting ideas from other fandoms, it's open to all and said something about a green screen with stuff for pics further in the comments.

I've asked Jennifer, the organizer of the event to address us concerning what she is proposing to do. Without divulging too much, I will state that there is a charitable organization that will benefit from this, which is noble in its conception.

I remain hopeful that she will join us here in due time.

I'm always willing to do something above and beyond if it is for a good cause.

Yeah, are they doing the baseball game again this year? That shit was HILARIOUS last year and I would love to plan it again!

I want to wear something nicer than my Charlies because I will be wearing them the following morning. Should I make a dress for this, but who will be my date??

Jess, please wear the pin up. I have 2 others that will be attending as pin ups as well.

I think the Military Ball will be an awesome event. Another event for us to shine!!

I plan to wear my Charlies. White gloves and all. I hope to see fellow marines to follow suit if they desire. It will make one helluva impression to the other groups.

We make them look bad!! LOL!!

Sean brought up to me using my pinup for the parade to carry the banner. If I wear it for the ball and then the parade. I will be wearing something completely different for the dinner which is fine.

Alas, despite me living in Atlanta, thanks to my car crapping out it looks like I won't have the funds to get there this year either. >.>
