The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

OK. I'm having a nasty day at work. But this at least means I might be able to throw my toys out of the pram and walk out early in a huff ... ;)

Back from the Drop from G, AJ and Coop

Day started with walking into Gs room that had a funky smell and with him looking like he had been ponied ;-) (drop joke) and hanging :-) and I've gotta say it was one of the best drops/troops I've done :-) the banter was great and the judging was fun ;-) along with meeting the friendship group wink wink

Thanks guys for making my day so great and G for organising this for us :-) your a star. Only down side is I had to leave at 9.30 :-( and couldn't carry on drinking.

So see you on the next drop :-)

Another great drop! The UKCM was a huge hit and I think we all had a ball. We found out that there are a load more closet MLP fans in the UKCM than I previously believed, and that Tony will make an exceptional street Judge. Abe got rather rat-arsed on the Friday night and was up till 2:30am dancing. And he left me with the worst hangover I've had for years.

Big big thanks to AJ in particular for looking after Abe!

As for the event itself, I really think they have succeeded in doing a smaller version of DragonCon: this really is something unique in the UK. Yes, tickets cost 4x the price of tickets for Expo/LFCC etc but it's a very different beast.

The next one is already scheduled for 8-10th August 2014 - tickets are onsale on the website for £65 and I will be booking a hotel room when I can!

Would this be a Con we on this side of the pond should consider? I do plan on getting plane tickets early next year as son as we can schedule vacation.

Thanks!

I'm not sure - you might find it a bit too familiar, being rather like a US hotel convention. ... ;)

Seriously - it might be worth considering. I'd like to think that we could get a few more Marines and Aliens to it next year. Unfortunately, being near Heathrow, the situation with rifles is very complex... :(

Oh dear. It seems the UKCM is sufficiently anti-science and homeopathic enough to appear in the Daily Mail science&tech section ... ;)

Ohh, there was more than one furry in the mens room at times. And that was even before Tony raised his arms. :)

It's a shame the Daily Mail hadn't heard about A:CM's (frankly libellous) insinuation that the chestburster is like a cancer. If they had, they would have run it as a "XENOMORPHS CAUSE CANCER" story today and then a "XENOMORPHS CURE CANCER" story three months later! :)
