The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So I'm looking online and I find an item I'm curious about, but it's located in California. Since I no longer own a truck, that's out of the question for me, so I think, How much is a one way U-Haul?

The answer...

$4,000!!!

Yes, to drive a uhaul truck (the small 10' one) from San Diego to Northern Minnesota would cost me 4 grand.

Lets just say I will NOT be making that purchase after all. :)

JEEZ LOUISE!!!

Alva to OKC one way was $220 and I'm guessing its about 20 times the distance. WOW!!!
Unless it was a 1:1 scale APC I'd agree with you and say 'no thanks'

I won't ask the item ;)

yeah, I miss my little truck. I hauled many an arcade game in the back.

I was computing gas costs last night, and gas round trip from MN would cost $600-$800 if I used a vehicle that got 18 mpg.

Crazy stuff!

Compared to $4000, any OTR freight company can do it....possibly below the $600-$800 it would cost you to do it...You should look into it.

Me too last weekend I moved and then the move to North Carolina is looking ugly as well.

It's like...2,000 for me to move from Texas to NC, not including gas which those big daddies suck down like crazy.

The only company I was able to get a quote from was Forward Air, but they only, literally, go from airport to airport. :(

If I lived in Minneapolis it might not be such an issue but...

Matt, are there any OTR companies you suggest?

DHL Freight might do it. Or check with your local arcade. They may know who their vendor uses.

UPS won't do it, the weight/size dimensions are too large.

I shipped a gutted pinball cabinet through them once though. :)

I'll have to look into DHL.

I've received small items from them before.
