The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Not real sure how I feel about this, but given Batman Begins was so good, I'll give the concept the benefit of the doubt for now

Well definately a much darker take on it...

and theres nothing wrong with it, its good.

Personally (and I know this commetn is going to get me tonnes of flak) but I really didn't like Batman Begins.

Batman and Batman Forever were, in my humble opinion, the best.

This new Batman reminds me of when Batman Returns came out, and there were complaints that it was too gruesome, and thats the same impression I am getting with this new Batman...

Now I am going to hide under a rock before something heavy is thrown at me...

You know, I really did like the Burton Batman (Tim, not Kevin)... but there's something about Batman begins that really hit home with me... I think it's because it wasn't at all cartoony that I like it so much.

Nolan's Batman Begins is a "grounded" Batman. There is a real world explantion for everything.

Burton's Batman and the sequels still had that "cartoon come to life" feeling.

Nicholson's Joker was still somewhat cartoonish. He was definitely much more psychotic than Ceasar Romero's tv Joker...

But this new Joker just screams psychopath! Uber creepy like the cross-dresser killer in "Silence of the Lambs".

Really looking forward to this one!

Kevin

"I know I'm human. And if you were all these things, then you'd just attack me right now, so some of you are still human. This thing doesn't want to show itself, it wants to hide inside an imitation. If it takes us over, then it has no more enemies, nobody left to kill it. And then it's won."

I like what they did with this new joker, the way (grounded as kevin put it) they did the joker up as a horribly disfigured character because of the smiley that was given to him (that's what the rumours are anyways)rather than burtons almost.....picture-esque joker played by jack nicholson. Now it will be interesting to see if ledger can actually pull off the clown prince of crime. In my opinion however, there will only be one Joker and that is Mark Hamill from the Adventures of Batman.

It'll be interesting to see how that "look" fits into the whole film. I'm optimistic, I loved Begins. Course having Maggie Gyllenhall as Ms. Dawes instead of Ms. Holmes-Cruise doesn't hurt either.

i'm glad they are getting away from the cartoonish joker, this looks more like the kind of joker Frank Miller, has written in some of his work...
