The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Also, will the Smart Gun and Flamethrower REALLY be Collectors-edition-exclusive in Multiplayer???

If that pic is legit, then I guess the flame unit and smart gun would be unlockable within the game during play for 'normal' game version owners, like weapons in other online games.

e.g. The Limited Edition version of Battlefield 3 gave extra online weapons and such too.

The image mentions an upgrade to the PR, so I guess that's a starter weapon, with the upgrade being a torch, larger mag or similar.

Looks good, even if the image is unconfirmed/fake. I don't normally bother with game special editions but for something like this, it being Aliens related & all, I'd have to make an exception!

Interesting that Space Jockey's enquiry thread was just removed from the Gearbox forums, instead of a flat denial or unwillingness to confirm whether something like this pipeline.

Cheers.

John. :)

Man, that Collector's edition looks tasty. I will have to do my best to snag one of those when the time comes. God, we have waited so long for this game to finally arrive. I really hope it doesn't suck. The good news is that if the game is weak, we still have the Prometheus movie in the Summer. Now if both Colonial Marines and Prometheus suck, I am officially moving to another planet.

I have high hopes for this being pretty good as recent Gearbox games, such as Brothers In Arms & Borderlands, have received positive reviews. It's surely got to be better than Rebellion's unremarkable rehash of AVP.

On release dates 25-Sierra may be right... Play.Com & Amazon still have 30th March 2012 listed but the UK based Game & Gamestation high street chains are saying August 2012. I hope the first two are right... & I definitely hope Gamestop are wrong!

Noooooo!! :x

It looks like you have a good source Scapey. Can you tell us more? Has it slipped to 2013 as 25-Sierra says?

Cheers.

Our local gamestop gave me the same answer that the game was delayed until 2013. I swear I am about ready to give up on this game ever coming out. What did polyphony digital take over development or something? ;) Anyone else feel this reminiscent of GT5?

There's hardly any threads about the game's release date on the official Gearbox forums and any there are just make general 2012-2016 comments, with no feedback from any admins. :|

Ooh, good one. How did I forget the infamous Duke Nukem debacle. Delaying the game until 2013 is a big marketing mistake IMHO. This year is the optimal year to release the game since Prometheus is hitting theaters this Summer. They had better get their butts in gear and have it out for Christmas. This news has made me grumpy. Boooooo!

Rebellion only had a year to develop AvP and lots of AL members either said it was awful or refused to buy it.

Gearbox have taken over six years on their Aliens game so far and it still may not be out for another year!

I hope all the Rebellion game haters really, really, really love the Gearbox game when it's released.

Might be me, but it does look like the Hadrian's Wall patch. Typically my google-fu now fails and I can't find a picture of the patch.

Thanks PVB. I think I'm going to try to forget about this game. Basically I've got to the point of "I'll believe it when I see it!"

Cheers.

Ooh, that DOES look a bit like the Hadrian's Wall patch, doesn't it?
How in the world could that have gotten in there? :)
