The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just a quick update to say that I'm not improved since coming out of hospital, still very weak, with no energy to do much than walk betweeen the living room and bathroom all day.

This is obviously going to take several months before I'm back to anywhere near good health, but I'm sticking with it. :)

Finally got my operation news; end of August.

So I've asked them to postpone it until October, so it doesn't affect the NSC Drop either. :) 8)

Got a hernia at the stoma site, but that's not unusual and will be fixed when they remove the stoma.

Got a slight issue with summink else which may or may not be fixed, but doesn't matter if they can't fix it.

This op will be stitching the bowel back together and removing the stoma/illeostomy.
Then my digestive system should return to some sort of normality. :)

It'll certainly be nice not having to get up every 2-3 hours during the night to empty the bag and actually sleep a whole night through. :)

Anyone'd think I'm sick or something.
Ta for the good wishes. :D

Just would have been nice for the operation to have been done in June/July, so I could have been fully fit for D*Con, but at least I know roughly when the op is now. :)

At the pre-op yesterday, the nurse was writing down some details and asked whether I was called Stephen or Steve. I hesitated, then said "Actually, my close friends and family call me PVB..." She then asked why, I told her and she laughed, then wrote down "Steve or PVB" as my preferred name. :D 8)

Typical.

I ordered the ticket yesterday to see Avatar:Special Edtion a week on Friday and today I get a letter from the hospital to say they want me in next Wednesday for my sew-it-all-back-together-and-hope-everything-works operation.
