The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Hi Vicky,

That's great thank you. :D

With or without the sheath would be fine, my night raiders sheath will be on the Marine mannequin so it will be displayed without it.

I'll add the Gerber to the main list in the first post.

Cheers,

Andy

Andy See your bring the Diecast APC and Dropship, that case I won`t bother (helps me now I`m catching the train there and back).

However if your interested I have the HOT TOYS Snap Fix kit ALIEN Queen. She stands 8-10 inches tall if memory serves. It`s the AvP Queen BUT on her own she`d do well for the ALIENS movie Queen to won`t she? The Preds and Xeno`s are 4" tall, so that gives you a better idea of size :D

Scapey and Jason, one or the other would be fantastic, it can go with the models / Xeno items. I guess it boils down to who can transport the easiest and which is least fragile, ooh and which is bigger?

We have four tables (I hope) the way I have our display area in my head at the moment is, looking at it left to right:

Mannequin USCM, Mannequin Sevice C or SmartGunner, Mannequin Dropship Pilot sat at edge of table. Then there will be GRID Computer, Dropship Helmet, Racal Headset, PR, Flamer, Tracker, Handgun/knife/belt tool/other small prop display board, Grenades, Misc small props, Models etc, Hugger, Chest Burster, any more Xenomorph items, then as we get nearer to the RPB table there will be printed material and any literature for the Legacy board or UKCM, this will be where the steward/s sits.

Martin, wow, your list reads like a candy store!

What about your table and won't you want to wear your gear over the weekend?

If not I'd love to incorporate the Shoulder Lamp, Helmet and Welder.

I think we are okay on the tracker front, I'll have mine on the mannequin and Rich's (Skapunk) on the table, although if you have room a back up would be cool! I'm bringinging the stand and perspex cover.

Some examples of the display stuff:

I'm trying to get as many Caption cards done as I can for the various display items.

For the larger items they will be A4 and in a perspex menu holder.

For smaller items they will be A4 mounted on card with a swing out stand.

I've tried to start each with an appropriate quote from the film, then some fictional info, followed by some real world info.

I'm using the USCM manual for most of the fictional info, heavily condensed.

Examples below;

Andy, if you want some of the literature we normally use on the D*Con table, grab what you need from them here:

http://dl.dropbox.com/u/1004067/Table.zip (8.4MB zip file containing pdfs)

They include the layouts of the Service C and Dropship Pilot uniforms, the AL Gold Awards, Space Jockey's Nostromo print, etc. 8)

1 x USCM Rifleman
1 x Dropship Pilot
1 x Service 'C'
1 x Smartgunner
1 x ??????? (wait and see!)

Cheers,

Andy

Yep, 2 mannequins packed and ready to go. We just need to figure out a way of supporting the smartgun.

How will the Smartgun position itself on a mannequin, vertical, or horizontal?

If horizontal approximately how high will it sit?

It can go anyway you want! Horizontally it would sit about waist high. The arm is very articulated, so can probably be postioned to fit on any kind of support we can find.

If we can make it secure on a Tensa Barrier, and we can find a Tensa Barrier, do you think the would be okay, the muzzle may have to be pointing slightly down, Tensa's are about 900mm high I think.

I have some tops for tensa barriers, signs normally go in them but they could be used to stop the gun falling.

This sort of thing;

That would do nicely. Might need 2 though, one for the front and one for the back. I'm sure the space centre will have some knocking around.

Andy I doubt I'll be wearing either my USCM or now complete Dallas costume, as I'll be beavering away of the flamer from the original film as a workshop along with Steve's pulse workshop. So if you need BDU's or armour, lamp etc I'm happy for them to be diaplyed <just need to fix the lamp as the lamp arm is a bit fragile> I'll bring my tracker just to be on the safe side <so you could rotate display pieces and no one's particular item gets handled by all the punters over the weekend>

You might want to add some "ask if you wish to handle of view closely" signs too as you'll have all manner of wandering hands and barriers don't all ways prove an obstacle as we've found out on the RPB stands.

Hi Martin,

Rich was after some BDU's and boots for the Smartgunner, could he borrow yours?

Lamp would be great as mine will be on the mannequin, as long as you're happy for it to be on the table.

Other items would be cool too.

Very good shout on the "ask if you wish to handle of view closely" signs, will get some done.

An Alien Flamethrower build, ooohhhhhhhh.

See you soon,

Andy

12" Queen would be a bit nice! :D

Shall I put yours down then Scapey?

Flightsuit should be covered, but please bring anyway. :D

Alien 3 prisoner gear should be very cool if we have a spare mannequin.

However I'm not sure if we are doing other Alien movies, I've concentrated on Aliens only, I'm guessing all Alien movies are okay though, if someone wants to comfirm?

Cheers,

Andy
