The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Ive made this new thread for everything to do with this years Alien encounter at the NSC. Just makes things abit easier than scanning through old posts :)

AE 2011 cast list -

Team 1- Saturday morning/Sunday afternoon
Sgt - Skapunkninja
Marine1 - Vito
Marine2 - Bugstomper99
Marine3 - Data
Marine4 - Matt B
freaked out marine in corridor - Padsbrat

Xenos
Rex
Claymore
Sidewinder
Becka
Pug50
Oddball

Lab rats
Prof Carabas - Prof Carabas
TK4721 - stage manager
Dr Starfox
Woody
TKlee
Anne Swaine
Henry
Jamie

**********************************

Team 2- Saturday afternoon/Sunday morning
Sgt - Sean George
Marine1 - Scapey
Marine2 - Lee Bradley
Marine3 - cooper
Marine4 - Graham Wright
Marine in corridor - Bolty

Xenos
Rex
Claymore
Xenajo
Becka
Sidewinder
Oddball

Labrats
Prof Carabas - Prof Carabas
TK4721 - stage manager
Kathryn Ord
Dave Wells
Sarah Morgan
Rob Morgan
Marie

Theres a few more Xenos to be put into the rota, but i'll sort that out abit later. Lab rats can chop and change as they like, just as long as we have at least 4/5 for each show.

The scripts are now ready. if you need a script, please PM me your email address and i'll get one sorted for you.
Remember, the script is just a basic guide. It WILL be changed/played with/butchered on the day. So dont learn it word for word, you'll just be wasting your time :)

Now the begging part......
Firstly, we are in dire need of a couple more amps for the sound effects. Does anyone have a large guitar or bass amp, or a PA amp/speakers that we could use?

And secondly, does anyone have a latex or vinyl face hugger we could use?

I can bring Fingers The Facehugger along again :)
Amps-wise, it's all down to whether or not Clay is coming... I can get the amps/speakers, but if we end up carpooling, then there's no way to get them down.

Couple of things to point out on the teams - In the main thread, Dave Wells has had to pull out so won't be there in Team 2. Dr. Starfox in Team 1 is also known as Sarah Morgan who's in Team 2, but since the two names aren't appearing in the same team it's just a point of reference & doesn't change organisation :)

We need a bare minimum of three Lab Rats per run to have speaking roles, though four is better- I think everyone signed up has done this in the past, but just in case...

It would be useful if the Lab Rats could gather in the control room for our own rehearsals about 15 minutes before the first show for each team. When everything starts to go wrong, the Prof will ask questions to the console operators. There's not much for each operator to say and as has been said already the script is fairly open to interpretation, but it's best to be prepared. If we have more than four Lab Rats, then there's space for others to wander the control room and watch what's happening. If there are Lab Rats in there for the first time it would help a lot if they were able to watch a couple of runs before taking a console.

Cheers Scapey. Think you could Chase Clay up for me? As he's one of the bugs I'm going to need to know ASAP just incase I need to redo the bug rota.

REHERSALS -
set up and rehersals will be Friday evening, so the more of you who can be there, the better! I'm not sure what time we can get in from yet. I'll find out and let you know.
I know some people won't be able to make it Friday, so there will be a very limited amount of time set aside Saturday morning for a few quick run throughs.

Were also in need of a few more Windows laptops. Anyone bringing one that we can use?

Cheers for that Prof - well spotted sir!
Good job I'm happy to be in there all day anyway.

Myself and my other half Rob might be able to help out regarding a guitar amp :)

Is 150 Watts big enough? Amp has been sitting in an outhouse for a few years now and has just been tested as working (power-wise) but we don't have a working guitar to test it with. Also we have another 15 Watt Amp if that will be any help.

We're local-ish and can be at the NSC Friday evening around 6:30pm with the amps and to help with the set up.

Let us know if all this is ok - cheers :D

I don't mind speaking some words.
I've done AE a couple of years ago as Grunt 3 (whichever one had the Motion Tracker).

We'll likely be up Friday evening, at whatever time the traffic allows for.

Provided it's reliable and has sound and USB - that would be very useful! Cheers Woody.

150 Watt would be very useful, Sarah. We would be looking for bigger ones for the main PR noise but a little one would also be useful. Cheers.

On that note - I'll make sure than no one's Amp is overworked or mistreated. The big ones will get a workout but hopefully we can get amps that can take it!

Very reliable. Might need to alter a couple of settings so the screensaver doesn't kick in or something, but yeah - It's clean.
It has sound, but internal speakers are tinny-sounding crap. I assume this is connecting up to the BIG-ass amped speakers via the 3.5mm headphones socket, though?

Cheers Woody :) it'll be connected up to one of the amps, so no need to worry about little speakers :D

Sarah, your a star! That's 3 large amps and 1 small so far, plus whatever Scapey can rustle up, so I think were good to go!

Rich - if you want laptops I can ask Bri. I think he may have one or two... ;)

Edit - Only thing is that they are security marked with some big blue or silver geese so they may not be any good for you.

Hey guys! Sorry for the lack of info but I only just got things sorted with work and such.

Myself and Bolty will be travelling down late Friday night coz both of us are working that day. I'll only be doing one day as a Xeno in the AE as I want to spend the other day having a good look round the NSC since I've never did that on my previous trips there.

Rich can you put someone else in for one of the days please? Doesn't matter which. Ta.

Final cast list has been put in the first post.
I cant have anyone else switching what squad they are in, as Rota's for other parts of the weekend need to be finalised.
If anyone wants to swap roles WITHIN their existing squad, then its down to you to sort out between yourselves, just let me know.

Bugs feel free to do as many shows as you like! i want this year to be the best one yet,and the more Xeno's we got crawling around, the better! :D
Same goes for lab rats. If your not schedualed to be somewhere else, we'll always be able to fit you in :)

For thoes that asked for them, i sent out the scripts last night. Its the same script as last year, so remember that changes will be made on the day

Can you please remove me (Dr Starfox) from Team 1 and remove Dave Wells from Team 2.

Cheers.

How are we set for amps on this? Clay and myself wont be down till later on Friday, but If you can leave the leads in place for the amp, we can just slot it in.

I still have access to the 2 speakers and one bass amp we used last year.

Hugsy the facehugger can be brought along too Rich.

Regarding. My part in the AE: As discussed my current health situation should be better by then but a backup would be advised. I don't want to lose out because it's what I built the suit for but the last thing I want is for you to be a Xeno short. :(

I'll be bringing Alfie along so maybe I could just walk the floor :)

Paul, we dont want any Aliens walking around outside the AE. You need to make up your mind now or miss out. I cant be playing around with the rota this close to the event.

Won't visitors expect to get pics with them if not paying extra for the AE? :|

Well, i think there would be some at a bug hunt. But also mainly. People would be paying for entrance, photos, autographs and AE so it would not matter. But to be honest. People would be more occupied with actually being more curious as to what is the Aliens encounter. ;)

But on both levels, it's a good point Steve. =]
