The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

recently signed up after meeting with Technoviking who I found out just lives 20 min from me
still in research phase of the whole process. I have done various forms of costuming, a large majority being star wars.
I have done a official introduction post on the main forums, but I thought Id post up in the UKCM section too
I am very much leaning towards a flyboy as helmets are my thing

catch you guys around soon. btw - I will be at CMG this weekend with the UKG as an animated clone!

Welcome aboard Nate.

Was great to meet and have a chat, next time I will have more kit downstairs for you to take a peek at.

As said a laid back, helpful bunch of Great Marines on here and as you can already helping you on your way. Once you have some time on the board as a poster the PX thread will open up to you (trade/wants and sales section). This will be of use to you no doubt.

Again welcome aboard and have fun mate.

oo thanks for those links very useful
had some contacts on the RPF who have put me in touch with the guy doing the helmet greebs
ok ok ok .....

from what I gather the drop ship cossie consists of:

SPH4 helmet +/- greebs SPH-4B to be exact with single visor assembly also known as HGU-39/P (shell only)
RAF Mk 11 or 14 flight suit with the dual pockets (size 9 for me with dual pockets)
M69 USCM flak vest (IDF do an equivalent)
USCM jungle boots with the Panama sole

abt right guys? Doing the usual searches, but if anyone comes across anything available just drop me a pm pls! I am gonna start pretty basic but work my way up to a Pvt Spunkmeyer type set up hopefully

thanks

Nate

oh great guys thanks for the help, was just abt to go look for patches and placements next.
as I can see - for the flak jacket, in terms of desirability goes from original, to replica to a israeli duplicate :D

took me a while to track down a sizing chart for Flightsuit sizes - but heres one I found!!!
http://www.militarymart.co.uk//size-cha ... nfo_7.html

size 9 by the looks of it

dammit - should have tried on the XL flak jacket yesterday.......
was doing some research, bu chest size is 44 inches, which most say a size L should do....... anyone wiht more experience?

Nate

right... I think I have researched most of it....
If anyone has spares or extras, or getting rid of items -pls lmk or pm

I am 5'9'' chest 44, waist 38, shoe size UK9.5
Looking for a RAF MK suit of size 9, XL of the flak jacket (replica or IDF versions all ok with me).
And obviously a sph4 helmet. Looking for the XL size

I will also be scouring the usual sources in the mean time.

thx for looking

ok - now on to the patches
to go on with the spunkmeyer theme - I need to source the following patches

Sulaco Colonial Marines Patch
U.S. Colonial Marines Uniform Patch
Colonial Marines Drop Ship Logo Patch
USCM Screaming Eagle Logo Patch (not on spunks)
Stars and Bars USC Marines Logo Patch (not on spunks)
US Flag x2
PFC rank bar

Now I have done the usual bay thrawl, and the search tool on here. All are available on the bay. Few people seem to do a patch or 2 in the UK. Now I understand the rules of the PX etc etc etc, but was wondering if there was a go-to guy for the complete set (US or UK makers are both ok with me).

thanks.

Ok gathered more info now

Spunks patch arrangement is diff from the link harry posted up above, which is more the marine arrangement.

Also got sizes for the us flag patch answered here - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10548

Side arm options here - viewtopic.php?f=3&t=10523

As we stand, still no one has made a kit of the polaroid camera greeb to partber up w gbe rapier sight at the time of this post. Although it sounds like both Harry and Noble are in mid builds.

Also, the boots on pilots arent jungle boots but standard army leather boots.

If you want to be screen accurate you actually want the Vibram sole.

http://www.mooremilitaria.com/Boots%202nd%20Pat%202.jpg

But the pilots didn't wear jungle boots, they wore standard black leather jump boots.

Oh yeah saw the threads.
still not sure, as.a few people and sites still swear blind by the panama sole.

Fortunately I have a pair of those black leather boots from back in the day. 3 years of service they saw, so nice and weathered already!

Cheers mole :)
thanks for welcome taj, soz out of cookies

Hicks certainly wears Vibram. It doesn't have the wide treads like the Panama.

thx Mole - yeah thats where the confusion lies. there was a thread on here a while back now 2-3 years saying that the boots in Harry archives are Vibram. But sites like this http://www.colonialmarines.net/index2.html as well as speaking to customers (eg UKG and the lads at CMG Galsgow last month) all say Panama.

Ultimately I guess, the screen shot shows what the screen shot shoes.

I think I may have a lead on a MK11 suit!!! Now only if it fits.

thx to FIDO for sorting out my VP70 holster!

Well you know what I think. Great to have another Taxi driver mate.

Those flight helms look to be one of the biggest headaches out of all the U.S.C.M. kit.
