Let’s be honest fellow Marines:
Pre-parade casualties is a direct result of excessive alcohol consumption, sleep deprivation, and (if lucky) an attractive companion (of the opposite sex) sleeping in the same bed. The parade early staging time also compounds the problem. Accountability of your fellow Marines is the key. If you wake up in time, and your buddies are still passed out in bed, try the ol’ military rollout. Lift side of bed and dump him on the floor while shouting; “GET YOUR LAZY ASS UP! @#$%@!!”. Or, if heavy lifting first thing in the morning is not your thing, grab the room ice bucket, go out into hallway and fill with fresh ice, add a little cold water, then dump on the heads of sleeping culprits. You may have to do some sprinting right after, mind you. But…. Your fellow Marine WILL be out of bed!
And finally, Dom can issue standing orders that all Marines will report on time, OR he will personally ‘tea-bag’ passed out Marines til they wake up!

Now parade AWOLs will be kept to a minimum.

Hey two years ago, I wasn't even IN the parade with y'all and I was able to get my ass out of bed and get a room full of marines up and running. This was even with a massive hang over and sleep deprivation. There is no excuse, Marines!

Sleep Deprevation is standard training for all Marines.

And if you must, wake your Marines bootcamp style. Turn on the lights and yell "LIGHTS! LIGHTS! LIGHTS!!!" preferably while banging on something loud like a metal trash can.

Aaron, keep in mind that 85-90% of the people in this parade are civvies with no concept of timings, punctuality and looking alert at 0800. Let them have their fun on their own time and we'll be the ones doing the PT before breakfast.

On that note, I'll be doing a 12 mile run before breakfast. Who's game?

And as a Marine I can help to educate 'em.

Not being serious on the "LIGHTS LIGHTS LIGHTS!!!"... But if you want to play a Marine, absorb some of the lingo and culture!
