The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Anyone know of any cheap items for either conf or union - caps, jackets, trousers that sort of thing? Going to Zombie Fest LARP event(its wild west theme)and wanna do a Civil war vet type thing.

Found some bits n pieces on Ebay etc but wondered if anyone had other options, especially our US members.

No need for weapons etc as i'm buliding my own cannon - ho ho.

im afraid you won't find anything cheap, unless its not well made. i thought about getting into re-enacting a while ago and it was pretty expensive.

Ta Rex, anything of that era to give an ex civil war soldier look - even if its damaged. I'll be starting off as human, only become a Z if I get caught by em. :)

Yeah Civil War is an expensive impression. Your best bet is just to get a cap. Most of our national parks sell them for reasonable, some great quality and others not so much.

ACW is cheap compared to most things 20th Century.

Wish I could help but I've been out of the CW loop for a bit. WW2 seems to be the big rage here in California.

I can only help put together impressions. I think most of the places we used to get things from are still in business. But then again. Not cheap. I'd say if its Wild west and you can spend I'd recommend a sack coat and a kepi or slouch hat with markings and such and then keep your boots/shoes and pants western in style.

Though my favorite impression was this guy who came out as a Confederate Cherokee Captain when we reenacted the Battle of Pea Ridge, Arkansas, he portrayed a real man and he always wore Cherokee "Battle (un)dress" and then wore a torn up Confederate great coat with Captain's insignia that had braided tails, eagle and falcon feathers, etc. Dude was a total Badass. I can't remember his name though, I was a wee young one in those days, his war cry scared me...
