The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Kev, I know you have done this...
What is a fast way to get a WW2 outfit just good enough for me to play "Call of Duty" on my new Wii in style:D

Depends how good you want it and exactly which force you want to represent from the film ;)

A very basic uniform you could use would be:

M1 helmet
White t-shirt
Flannel enlisted man's shirt
M-1941 jacket OR M-1942 tanker jacket (I prefer the second)
Wool field trousers
Pistol belt (or complete webset, but pistol belt is easiest)
Service shoes and gaiters OR 1943 double-buckle boots.

A very basic uniform, slightly ghetto, but would look alright. Of course, you could always take the easy way out and buy an M-1942 jumpsuit, or an M-43 uniform (both comfy two piece uniforms that are readily available) with Corcoran jump boots and an M1 lid and pistol belt. Live the life of the "Airborne" Ranger etc etc ;)

Okie Dokie-

Helmet is easy enough- any M1 pot will suffice. I painted the 2nd Army Rangers diamond and NCO stripe myself.

Jacket- simple tan, front zipper, windbreaker I bought at a local suit store- resembles a "tanker" jacket. Patches are from ebay.

Pants were from a second hand store- I just found what I believed looked closest to that brownish-green colour. Same goes for the shirt (although you can't see it).

Cartridge belt, spats and webbing are authentic via ebay (however the suspenders are Korean era issue). 45 holster is a repo. The canteen/pouch and E-tool/pouch are from a local army surplus store.

The haversack I made myself out of an Old Navy backpack.

Boots are my old parade boots I repainted brown.

M1928 is an airsoft, and the 45 is a blank gun. Pineapple grenades are via MatsuCorp. ;)

Really you could just get a olive drab webbelt in place of the M1 cartridge belt- just make sure it is made of natural material and not synthetic nylon. You don't really need the suspenders or haversack if you decide to go the officer route (for a quick impression).

Hope this helps man! :D

Heh thanks! :)

It all goes in my closet (where I also have my gun safe for my airsoft guns- moreso to prevent them from being ripped off than safety). Big stuff like my PIG gun stays in the garage.

I'm not big on clothes- jeans and a t-shirt are my regular wear. My closet is about 1/4 real clothes, and the rest my costumes.

Drives my wife nuts. ;)

lol. I have two double wardrobes/closets in my room. One is full of normal clothes (mostly jackets) and the other is crammed full of my uniform. I don't know where I'll find to put my costumes once I properly start...

At The Front are one of the pricier suppliers - but I've heard nothing but good things about their kit. :)
