The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Yeah, not the most flattering of outfits. ;)

I was thinking about changing the collar to a mandarin one like the male shirt but I think it would be a lot of work to modify the blouse. It would probably be easier to have a whole new one made by a tailor if going down that route.

LOL! And I've still got another four weeks to go!

Trying to get back on topic - gi-rene, I'd be interested in a sizing chart for female uniforms if you can get one. I have enough issues trying to remember how to convert US sizes to UK ones as it is and I'm guessing the military probably don't follow the general 'fashion' measurements that stores use.

I'll poke about :D

Forrest Green Poly-Wool...

Can't remember the Shade "code" they give it off-hand. I'll be at the exchange later this week when I'm picking up a butt load of Sergeant's stripes for my service uniforms, I'll give it a look then. Been busier than a one legged man these last few weeks.

Correct my thinking if I'm wrong, but....

I recall the Quartermasters stocking uniforms in sizes to fit all manner of blokes, from 4' 8" to 7' 2" and all builds thereof.

Does it not follow that they do the same for women?
If so, there should be plenty at a good surplus shop to fit you...

I also recall some 'impressively figured' women in the forces....

I have yet to find a surplus store that stocks skirts long enough for my 38" inseam, the shirt is only slightly a big deal cause I have wide shoulders

Hehehehe! I meant that she managed to squeeze into one of the blouses (at least I assume it's a USMC blouse) rather than it being a serious version of the female Service C. ;)

Taj - as you're in the States you should have more luck finding a blouse. I know they do long lengths but it depends on their definition of 'long' in ladies sizes. I had to put up with what I could find on eBay.

Actually it is a correct USMC blouse. I had it taylored to fit the curves in the appropriate areas.

Taj,

Because of my tatas and hips, on ebay I bought a USMC class c shrt on ebay for a pregant marine. :) I then had it altered to fit me appropriately, like Dom said for the "Pinup" version.

And yes Dom...I know I know. Its not accurate. But its accurate enough for everyone to 'get' it.

Looking at the shirts at the exchange I was thinking that, the normal female sizes are very thing and short. But IIRC the bottoms of the shirts (females don't tuck them in naturally) sit at the middle of the pelvic (or maybe upper, never really asked a female how its supposed to fits, though I guess I can look in the regs) area, so yes, that would be a problem for a tall woman.

Skirts are another issue.

Maybe you can get one lengthened?
