The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

TBH, it doesn't really matter how big the show is; there is likely to be more to do that the biggest events in the UK - the event itself isn't really relevant.

One reason why I would go would be the road trip from the nearest cheap hub airport, and the other (the only real reason I trek to events even in the UK): Meeting up with people! :)

Of course, Abe demands that there be at least one camera there, but I think we can be sure of that ....

I'm thinking about going, but I need to check with the missus. It's almost a four hour drive for me.

I would like to meet other fellow marines in the area and get some local tips and advice. Is there a USCM post/chapter in Northern Virginia? I see Maryland is pretty active. I'd like to someday join you all in a drop!

Other than the UKCM chaps and some of our friends up in Canada, I am not aware of many other groups that have organized regional affiliations like we do up in Maryland. Then again, we are also good friends who got together doing other things like historical re-enactment, ren faire work and being in the 501st. Doing colonial marine stuff is just one part of our repertoire. We'll have a table set up at Shevacon. If you can't make it, by all means come up to see us at Shore Leave in Hunt Valley, MD (just north of Baltimore) in July.

Cool, thanks for the info. I've been lugging around a proton pack for the last year and a half - a few of us jump started the GB chapter in Northern Virginia back into business. I'd like to add USCM to my repertoire as well. I've never heard of Shore Leave until now, I'll have to check it out. :D

2 weeks to Shevacon, and on a sad note Spat will not be attending, but the up side is Spat will not be attending :P

stop by the Table (our first) and say hi, or come out and troop. FYI it's a 5 hour drive for most of the MD guys as well.

hopefully, we can keep up with the DC table

I hope to have a banner done in time, a wall unit like at DC, some armor stands and hopefully a rifle rack.

Had a good time, we ended up with 8 Marines showing. Long day, had to man the table until 9pm on Saturday.
Hopefully someone will get some pictures up.
