I got a mail through on the Sega PR mailing list:

We are headed to Orlando Florida to show off Aliens vs Predator at this year’s Major League Gaming finals! I’m reaching out to our Aliens or Aliens vs Predator fansites to see who might be available to attend to see AVP in action. The game will be playable across Xbox 360 in an 8 player multiplayer setting. We’ll be running tournaments during the day, but will have some free time to have more extended play sessions during the day too.

Please let me know if you are interested in attending or have anyone from your website who would be interested in attending. Just send me the names and I’ll get them on the list. We have a limited pool, so only 3-4 people from your site would be able to get in on a comp ticket. Once I have names, I’ll be getting them in for registration and will send along a confirmation.

We’re looking forward to showing off the game and would love to see you at the event in Orlando!

Yeah man, thanks indeed! We got a great reaction from the crowds, got some time on the game and of course got to hang out in armor. That's a solid Saturday in my book :)

Did I play as the Marine? Cmon :D I actually got to play all three races but did indeed like the Marine best by the end of the weekend. Aliens are fast, really fast, motion sickness inducing fast to some and can climb on any surface but pretty easy to kill with a Pulse or the Pred's weapons. The Pred isn't as fast but can cloak and jump like a mofo. The Marine is slooooooow compared to the other two but spawns with a ranged weapon unlike the Predator which is a huge benefit due to the fast pace of the game.

We pretty much played evey man for himself which means spawn, maybe get a kill then get fragged. I'm really interested in seeing how team play changes the feel of the game. All in all I liked it, but that's not a hard sell to folks like us right :wink:

I didn't even hear about it until I logged back in here today and saw my inbox flooded with messages about it.

Guess that's what I get for not checking in often enough.

It doesn't really matter anyway, I don't have the capability of being in gear at the moment. I'm currently revamping my entire marine. Valerie is largely disassembled presently, and I don't have the parts to put her back together yet. However, come DragonCon, I will have a much cooler (and less out-of-place) style to rock.

Didn't they have a similar event last year, but at the last minute they dumped everyone that had signed up to help them (in costume)?

That's info above my paygrade there. As for this event it was 5x5 all the way. The reps loved us, the marketing guy loved us, the whole California branch has heard all about us now and they're considering heading to Dcon should time and money permit. Might be a nice joint venture if they get the delayed Colonial Marines up and running by then.

The only thing you need to know is that the Smartgun is in the game, and it absolutely kicks all of the ass forever. You just have to find it in the level, first.

The rest of the details are unimportant. :mrgreen:
