The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Just wanted to post information on MegaCon in Orlando Florida.

http://www.megaconvention.com/

Although the day life is average, I find the night life reminicient of DCON. So this makes a great mid-year drop. I saw some of you guys there last year and hope to again!

Also our costuming brothers and sisters at the Wolfpack (WPE) are throwing two events. Friday - Costume Party at the Embassy Suites and Saturday - their big dance party. If you plan to attend please throw a few colonial credits into the party fund. You can donate by going to the WPE Homepage and clicking "donate now"!

The WPE also worked out con rates of $145 a night at the Embassy, so if you want a room, the code is MEGACON. Make sure you call the one at Jamaican Court. There are two ES on International.

LOL. I wish Megacon ran until May.

I wish I was going this year... but besides not having any guests I want to see, I haven't yet bought tickets yet. And this is not a "buy at the door" con.

I might go for a day trip, but I would *gasp* be Star Wars costuming there instead.

Bought?

I've gon to MegaCon the past 5 years and never bought a ticket. I guess because I don't do any events.

Mah bad! I ment Feb 27th instead of the 26th. Since I treat it like DCON, I go a day early to hang out with friends.

Vulkons you could get every attendee in a room and it wouldn't even equal the lobby at Megacon. The bigger the numbers... the more "nervous" I get.

I'ma be there, of course. I'll be trooping the Smartgun rig on Saturday most like... depending on how the showing is this year I may do it more than one day. I may also enter it into the costume contest this year, if I can get certain rebuild work done on the vest in time.

ALSO, I want to plug for the TerrorWerks booth. Last year was the first year Mac and the Mind Game Productions team ran TW at MegaCon, and it was an absolute blast. I played through it once and had so much fun, I spent the rest of the day volunteering as one of the monsters!

(Treadwell, I was the one that chased you out at the very end of your game, hehehe )

I'll definitely be volunteering at the TerrorWerks event again this year, and may even be NPCing some - Mac wants me to bring the smarty as a prop if I can. He loves us Colonial Marines guys as our outfits fit perfectly into the theme of the TerrorWerks game.

At any rate, whether you're in armor or not, if you're at MegaCon you owe it to yourself to check out the TerrorWerks booth. Last year it was $15 for an hour long scenario, and it was an absolute riot. See you guys there!

I'm glad they're sticking with the Marine theme. When I talked to Mac at D*con this year, he mentioned he might be changing out the zombies and aliens into Reaver type baddies.

Me and Val will be in attendance on Saturday. I was planning on Star Wars costuming on Sunday, but it's beginning to look like my costume may not be ready. In that case, I'll be in uniform both days.

(I can't make Friday due to work :x )

I'll be there but not bringing USCM gear this year. Civvies on Friday and Indiana Jones on Saturday. I hope to do TerrorWerks again.

Tread - you'll have to let me know when you go through, so I can "die" chasing you to the dropship door again

That place is small, too... so go figure.

What's funny is that I did see a PIC of Sean on display at a photo booth... so I knew someone was around, somewhere...

Yeah, "The Project"... they were running a costume portrait service at the 'Con. A few weeks ago they put a call out (which got to my ears through the Rocky Horror cast mailing list) for models for photos to show off on their booth, so my friend Jessica and I both went. They gave everyone who showed up and modelled for them a free giant size portrait print.

I spent most of today NPCing for the TerrorWerks game in the smartgun rig, the Mind Games crew loved it. Fun times this weekend all around :)
