The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

If youre talking about organizing something with DragonCon, then good luck....they are pretty head strong about the way they want things to go.....bummer really. We tried our hardest to get them to let us do some new Star Wars stuff (back before SW sucked) but they were dead set on the way they had it...we tried to explain to them that they are losing the main audience, the costumers and die hard fans, so they could focus on teaching kiddies how to make a Lightsaber from a toilet paper tube.....(yes, they really did that) They have pretty much ruined everything they try to control, instead of letting the fans and people with the "know how" organize it...

But hey, its worth a try

It's a shame that they're not open to more stuff. I can't help wondering if it's a fear of losing control that's stopping the organisers from venturing into other possibilities for the event.

In terms of logistics if there were to be an AE at Dragon*Con it'd have to be a lot different to the one we ran in the UK. We're very lucky to have the Challenger Suite at the NSC to act as our set, complete with everything we need in the way of monitors, rotating beacons, briefing room, control room, corridor and lab; complete with lighting, sound system and all self-contained. That said it wouldn't be impossible to re-think it and come up with something new.

I'd love to take the HHACA exhibition over for example (assuming I could find a sponsor to pay for it to get there of course) but from what I saw of it this year there wouldn't really be anywhere for it to go that'd be safe, yet not tucked away somewhere that no one could find.

Harry
