First of all , i have never been to a convention before ,let alone dcon ,and i went down all alone . I was fairly nervous it took me about 30 minutes to get the nerve up to walk out of my hotel room in armor ,but after that i felt naked and out of place without it on ,,
thursday night i walked into the hyatt bar with my piece through t-shirt on, and within a couple minutes i was surrounded by marines ,and they made me feel apart of the group instantly ,I can't say enough good things about this group ,highly motivated and highly dedicated to aliens/colonial marine universe and to making you feel welcome thank you guys very much ,,
Now things i learned at d-con
ssgt burton (((aka mr lv426 2008))) has probably in my opinion the most dedication and attention to detail of the group , he could be a full time marine easily ,and he is easily one of the nicest people i have ever met ,
followed closely by dom (((( the smooth talking silver tongued devil))) in all these departments ,dom adds a certain amount of realism .he kinda has that drill instructor attitude "we are going to be there at this time and in uniform" but not in a bad way he was great as well .
uscm grunt ,((derek the boob man)) one of the nicest people , i have ever met .truly genuine and very easy to talk to ..
snakeyes((aka the ladies man)) perfect room mate, super nice guy,and very funny .
airborne mike . i didn't interact with mike as much ,but he was very cool and always had a smile on his face ((but that could have been the whiskey )),in fact he is so cool the brits kidnapped him and took him home ((( something about whiskey and naked woman )))
cpl tony (((aka simon peg))) very cool guy ,super nice wife ..he is a brit you know ,but he lives among us ..
Now speaking of the brits ,,how can i put this delicatly ,there are a bunch of drunks
no no no just kidding ,but seriously they will drink you under the table sleep with our american woman and drink you under the table again tommorrow night ,and that pretty much sums up spat as well ( he is a member of the ukcm ) ((((wtf)))but seriously ,very very cool guys and it was an absolute pleasure to meet them .

the french ,super cool ( except when they speaking in code so nobody else can understand them )
now i know i am leaving people out i am still trying to take it all in ,and i just got home ,and the wife is giving me the hairy eyeball for being gone for 4 days ,and coming home ,and posting right away so i will post a couple pics for now and more later

P.S. If you are on the fence about joining this group jump in ,and if you want to be a bug , do it THEY GET ALL THE CHICKS . the only reason we where in pics with girls is because it was overflow from them
