The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Okay...I'm running SO far behind for DC...who else is NOT ready??

Heres my list...

1. Finish building and paint Stunt Motion Tracker (for carrying)
2. Finish applying Service C uniform name tags and patches
3. Finish applying Smart Gunner flak vest patches
4. Install MAA pouch under lobster plates of Helmet
5. Finish the "my version" Hack pouch
6. Last minute "once over" of armor
7. Try on armor to see if all the new goodies Ive acquired or made are going to "sit" right.
8. Pack

Derek

OK, I'm worried....

All I have to do is gather up the armor and other costume and make sure it fits in the car.
Sorry, no added extras for the USCM since last year.

However, I'll be a FLAMETHROWER with IMP pack this year.
So I may need to work a little on the attaching of that to the armor.
My PR will be on loan to the British boys :)

<edit>
Grow up guys :P or I'll get my wife to beat you up

All my stuff has been ready for about a week and a half now thanks to my 'think ahead, panic early' philosophy. Now I just want to be on that plane! :)

Define 'ready'.

I have everything in my house, but not necessarily in the right place/case/other carrying device. :D

Fixing my armour. A few dings from my pistol range shoot from last week. Waiting for my new badges to come in this week to sew on MAA 3Pat BDU's. My M240 needs to be touched up. Yeah, we all have stuff to do.

Yeah -- I'm running behind a bit too... as usual.

Why do I always wait until the last weekend before DragonCon to switch into "panic-build" mode?

Oh well... I am eating breakfast as I type this, so here is what I will get back to working on when I get back out to the garage:

1. Completely paint and build new fiberglass armour. (My biggest concern is not to rush the camo paint) 8)
2. Upgrade my helmet. (Needs either camo paint or cover and new ear defender)
3. Fix Shoulder Lamp (Broke at a Halloween event last year) :(
4. Sew patches on BDU's. (I've been taping/tacking them on for the past 2 years)
5. Hack Pouch (Needs a lot of little goodies added to it)
6. 7-Day Smart Gun (I've decided to bring this bad boy back to DC, but she needs some 'upgrades') ;)
7. Mystery Armour Item (Oh yes... if I can get it done, it'll be wicked cool) 8)
8. PACK!

Rick...

You are the King of the Last-Minute, Down-To-The-Wire have everything ready for D-Con guys! 8)

I don't think I would be able to finish one of those tasks (well maybe the patches at least  ) by then!

Rick is that the MAA recast set? I'd be interested in having a good look at that.

Yeah... perhaps I am. But not exactly a title by choice. You've been one of the smart ones -- carefully pacing the build of numerous awesome costumes throughout the year. Man, if I could only be that diligent. :?

I decided not to include on my list the "Warriors of the Wasteland" costume I started on because there is absolutely no way on this good earth I am going to have that done in time. Rex and Scott will be having all of that fun without me. :(

Yes it is Harry... and with a little luck on my side, hopefully I'll be able to finish it in time so that you can see it -- and I can finally enjoy it. :D

As you're wearing yours, I'll wear mine. :)

Think I'll pack it for the flight though, or would the airport security not mind? :?

I shouldn't think they'd mind, although wearing it at the airport might be a bad idea, as would wearing anything remotely paramilitary. That's not me being paranoid by the way; it's me remembering that story of the guy with the Transformers T-shirt getting thrown off a flight or something because the Transformer on his shirt was holding a gun.

Yes, it could be that bad.

Having said that there's no way I can get my pith helmet into my case so it's going to have to go in my hand luggage (rucksack), but it's in a bag and it is just a hat so it should be fine. If there's a problem with it I'll let security keep it, it's no biggie.

Harry

Probably 90% costume packed. Not packing mundane stuff until Wednesday night.

And now that TS Fay is gone (mostly) and the rain can pass I can actually paint my Spulse.

Let me see :

- have to paint the camo on the booth shoulder and one skin/Knee armor set
- tag my name
- weathering all
- seal the armor
- paint the headset
- build the mike and fix it
- put straps and fastex
- fix the chinstrap and camera on the helmet
- glue some towel piece inside the helmet (MAA one is to small for my head size to be able to have a liner so made my own sweatband DIRECTLY on the hard helmet like)
- sew my Nametape and USCMTape on the BDU Shirt
- glue the velcro for USCM Patches on the BDU Shirt
- thinks to bring lace to hook the PR Sling
- pack the Jungle Boots and the set-up pouches
- paint red the head of the ammo
- put the strap and armor part on the ab pad

Well   the good news are that the molded resin PR seems to have reach NY if Post Tracking System tall the truth, the suit case/and safety straps are the one agreed by US Customs, the hotel is book and paid, the flight is book and paid, the monthly salary has been payed and the underarmor like t-shirt is arriving today

Last working day will be this night, shift 23H-7H (now it is 12H43) so rest plenty of time before getting my flight the 28

I LIKE WORKING UNDER PRESSURE

PS : even thought to order a arm cloth French Flag for quick I.D. off USCM Duty

I still have a PR to build. :(

Managed to get 2 sets of BDUs (1 Safariflage, 1 desert) done and patches added... with the exception of nametapes. No nametapes for me this year. Oh well.

Other than that, I think I'm set.

 If it's a Spulse I got it assembled in 2 days but it was really only about 8-10 hours of work.

Painting... still need to do. I've got it base coated black but haven't been able to pick up any od green for it.
