 Post subject: D-Con 2008 Parade participation

Hey everyone,

I'd like to start to get a head count of how many of us will be participating in the Satuday morning parade. As the parade liason for the past 4 years it is my job to estimate how many of us are going to be in our group so that we have enough "parade participation ribbons". As per D-Con rules- no one will be allowed to march in the parade without a ribbon.

For those who don't know- the parade is a D-Con tradition commencing at 10am and lasting about an hour covering several blocks of downtown Atlanta. Meet up will be at about 8am with us travelling over to the parade staging grounds at about 9am. A more detailed description (including our position in the parade- and the route itself) will be posted a couple of weeks before D-Con.

Please do the standard copy and paste for Parade participation.

Couple of things I will need to know eventually-

Will we have a vehicle this year,

Will we have any music.


There was some discussion of having a minivan or other vehicle in order to play the "Ready for the Drop" drumbeat. Is this still going to happen?

Also Chris used to have a banner for us- will we have a banner this year? This question is covered under "Will you be carrying any banners or flags?"- I know we will have the USCM flag and possibly the flags of the US, UK, and Canada.

As I apparently have an acceptable Dress C uniform, I would be proud to carry the Tricouleur alongside the other national flags - plus I'd be glad not to wear armour out in the sun! :p
