The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Seeing as the 2007 thread keeps popping up with marines who are planning to attend next year's drop... I've open the doors to the next drop.

So? Who's coming? Who's got tickets? Who's got a room?

My ticket's already been purchased and I already have a motley crew of scoundrels rooming with me.... Mike M, Derek C and Sean M

I'm coming, don't have a room or ticket yet. I'm usually a last minute attendee... this year was a bit different though.

Vs... bah.

I'm more than willing to bring another batch of cornbread muffins, but I certainly hope I will not be the only one to do so... we were a couple short I recall... I brought 17.

It was a fun little thing, wasn't it?

I'll be there. I have a room booked in the Marriott and am staying for the duration. I think a number of us Terrapin guys will be down there as well. Now, I am pretty sure I won't have my smartgunner kit ready to go so, at the very least, I will have my BDU's.

Maybe I'll stay in the Hyatt then.

Kidding.

Yeah I heard about the boycott on a couple of different boards.

Not sure if it will make a dent in their income really (we're talking about what... 300 or 400 costumers at most when the Hyatt gets 1000s of people of traffic a day?). :? :(

I guess it will set our own minds at ease to know we won't have to put up with the Hyatt/D-Con camera/security guard Nazis.

I'll book the Hilton soon enough. I kinda set my credit card on fire recently with some costume/prop purchases and have to cool it off a bit first.

Not to mention Christmas coming up fast.

Oh and my Wife's birthday is at the end of this month.

God help my wallet.

Hopefully enough to make the Hilton & Marriot as bad and the Hyatt to be as quiet as a mouse.

Even the Marriott, though, did a wee bit of people shuffling. At 2AM they kicked everyone off the 3rd(?) floor because they needed to close that little side bar. I'm like, so go ahead and close it then, but there are a bunch of nice comfy chairs out in the open here and there's no reason for you not to let us use them.

They wont hit your card until you check out...they only hold the room with your card. They wont charge anything on it until you arrive...and even then you can opt to pay cash when you get here...so dont worry about the card being hit.

Time off: booked.
Plane ticket: booked.

I was waiting to see where most people were going to stay and possibly if a couple of my friends might decide to come along, before I booked a hotel room. The dollar might be tasty low, but I'm still not ready to book a room by meself for almost a week!

But regardless - barring an actual alien invasion or some other natural disaster like that, this froggy's gonna be trooping next August in Atlanta. 8)
