The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

The last two years that I have been to Dcon there has been a raffle with stuff being contributed and given away to other board members.
Are we doing that again this year ?
If so, I have the following two statues to contribute.....

Now, what to pack......

Think mine wil have to be really small/unbreakable, as it's gotta travel quite a way.

Dom and I had talked about maybe doing a Door Prize at the Saturday night dinner (via raffle tickets), and then the charity auction for Chris. We would be accepting donated items for the auction.

But nothing is set in stone and things are still being decided and worked out.

Didnt they ban raffles last year? Thats why we had it held in my room....it was a bit cramped as I recall..and with the numbers showing this year, we may have to rent a banquet hall

Yeah, since the Saturday night dinner has the most people attending, it seemed the best night to have it. Everyone would already be in one place!

I thought you weren't doing any dinners, Spat. Did I miss something?

I have no problem donating to a free door prize/raffle.
I do not want someone to have to pay to get them.

Well, the door prize was going to be a big item that would be given away for free to one lucky person at the dinner.

The Charity auction is going to be donated items as well as Chris' Armor and Gear being auctioned off with the proceeds going to help out Chris' wife.

If anyone wants to donate items that specifically are for the door prize, and not for the auction, that's fine. I don't mind giving away a dozen door prizes.

As for me going, check the dinner thread, Dom and I worked it out, and I'll be attending the dinner on Saturday as that's the only night I have free now (shameless plug - Friday Night I'll be hosting the Con Sluts party, and Sunday I've been invited to host the Wolf Pack party).

:)

It would be best if it was someone in Atlanta.

If we are doing the raffle on Saturday, why not just bring items with you to the restaurant ?

Last year, Chris gave me the torch (and a roll of his raffle tickets) and I carried on with this great tradition.

So again, this year, we'll conduct the raffle. Please bring whatever items you wish to recycle into fraternal hands. I'll hand out the raffle tickets to USCM members coming to dinner... and whoever comes to the USCM breakfast before the parade. Yes, that's right, cornbread at 07H00! Shag it!

So if there are no objections, raffle at Max Lager's?
