The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

OK, post your intention and pics of yourself in your Joeworld costume.

I'll be representing a ruthless terrorist organization determined to rule the world... one province at a time.

Wow you have lost weight, that striped shirt looks good on you. And those two Cobra guys who ruined your pic are lame!

Yo Joe

I'm on the right. The far right in case you thought I was Scarlett.

Ok Chris I give up... Do you have any of those Dreamcon pics? I don't remember wearing Duke at any other convention.

Oh and I have a brand new Tan long sleeved shirt with patches now. :)

Cool. I was digging through the archived Joe board and couldn't find any other than my really tiny member pic.

Moving the discussion here, Adonis, are you 100% that's an MP?

Image

I'm not going to argue a lot with someone more familiar with the show, but that really looks like a flamethrower to me. Especially given that he holds it by the front, and the back appears to be a canister.

Yeah... it's a clip he's holding it by. I'm not a real world weapon's expert myself. It might be a submachine gun.

But look at the new 25th anniversary Firefly. His gun definately has a folding stock.

The card art for the figure has Firefly holding the gun by the magazine as John said. The "canister" is just the grip for the figure.

Here's a better pic:

Image

And here's a comic cover that looks like it's based on the figure:

Image

Looks like a made up weapon. Sort of like a Tec 9 but bigger and with a collapsable stock.

The 25th Ann. figure's weapon looks like a Smith and Wesson model 76 smg:

I see. The back looks like that because of how the figure's hands are.

Similiar I guess... to the MP40 used by Germans in WW2. I know I saw a cheap springer (under $40) on eBay the other week. Easy enough to mod the front end.

I was wrong about it being a made up weapon- I just discovered what the figure's gun is based on...

The French MAT-49!

Image

I think just about all of the original 3 3/4" weapons were based on real World guns.

I think for the first... 4 waves/series they were. Before the cartoon reduced everyone to laser rifles. :?

I'm really going to try to make this happen. Pointing me in the direction of workable weaponry at good prices would go a long way to help. :D

I don't think they make that as an airsoft, but you could search eBay. Always eBay.

Kapowee has a spring Hudson Grease Gun for $30:

EDIT- I just checked ebay- they are going for $8- $15 bucks there! Just put Grease Gun in a search and choose Sporting Goods as a category!

Sweet!

Should I attempt to add the cage?

It looks like I may be able to do this after all.

I've never built my own props.

Kinda wish I could. Saves money.

Yeah by all means! :D

Not sure if you can find say a mock silencer or something that you can mod- I would just get a PVC tube and drill some holes in it.

Looks like I can only get a balaclava in regular urban.

Image

Too much white. I'll have to talk to one of my costumer friends about the feasibility of dyeing.

Otherwise, this looks entirely doable in the $100 range.

I'll find a way to squirrel away Snake-Eyes into my luggage.

Image

For those interested, My costumes @ the Snake-Eyes tribute site. I started around 2000 and can see that others have been following up on my concept for the outfit :P
