The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

So any Florida folk interested in attending? As usual, the evenings are very unguarded so if people just wanted to show up to hang out as USCM...

No Voyager people dammit! Unless Angie shows up and then you can count her as a Voyager and Enterprise guest.

Yes indeed. Starfleet cadet in the series finale of Voyager and generic weird alien #7 ( ) from the pilot of Enterprise.

Aw don't be cruel :D Enterprise aside Angie would still be more interesting than half the guests usually present at a Vulkon

Trek is the Tila Tequila of fandom. Loud, annoying, sometimes nice to look at, but you feel so bad about yourself afterward.

HEY!! Vaughn Armstrong is going to be there, and he's a buddy, so be nice to him. The rest of Trek is crap, but Vaughn is cool.

Tell him Spat said Hi!

Just something I've gone beyond. I seriously think it's the 95% of the fans that turn me off on it.

Ditto.

Go and work at a Trek Convention and see how quickly your love of Trek drops like a brick after a weekend of handling rabid Trek fans.

I used to like them. Now they frighten me. And make me feel a little sticky.

Yeah, a lot of them are sweet people...

But we get flooded with 400lb (no lie) Starfleet Marines and Klingons. I just prefer some realism in my scifi.

I love the Star Fleet Uniform top with Jeans and Sneakers. Those are my favorites!!

I may make that my new costume for DragonCon. And then cover my shirt with Cheeto dust and carry a 3 liter bottle of Mountain Dew or something.

My favorite costume is the Ubergeek. Some padding, some Trek, a lightsaber, some really nerdy glasses, some con stink, a Superman cape....

I gotta admit I have seen exactly what you guys are talking about one too many times (especially the SF shirt with jeans)...

But they just make me look better when they are around.

Oh gods... Here in my town we used to have a Trek group that I was part of. The USS Eclipse. I did the Voyager style Rubies top, tried to color match my pants and got decent ankle boots.

But 2 guys... both in their 40s and still living with their mom... had these... aprons. Apron-ey, almost tabard like with ties on the side and pockets at the bottom part (they were Next Gen style). They were the height of geekdom. Sad thing is they could have gotten a decent top for the same price it took their mom to sew them.

Sigh. Postponed until June or July now. Because nothing is more fun than Orlando in the Summertime.

Well shazam, in that case I might actually go with you. That economic stimulus money from Uncle Sam should show up within the next couple of weeks, and depending on how much of a fire I'm able to light under my ass I might be finished by June or July... the gun rebuild is only about a couple afternoons' worth of solid work away from being finished, really. Materials are the only thing slowing me down at the moment. We'll see what happens.

So you're simply taking your everyday clothing and wearing it to a con? That's not very inventive, Spat. C'mon now.
