The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Alright Marines, Last year I believe we had ONE marine there, and this year we have a few new recruits....

But all in all, we have moved the con to a Bigger and Better hotel, and we NEED more of a presence there. I know I will be there, and Schwartz will be there, but we NEED MORE! A 2 man fireteam is NOT going to cut it.

So FYI, the con is SUPER cheap, only 20 dollars for a 3 day pass, and its 70 a night for the hotel. For anyone flying in, flying into DFW airport is one of the cheapest flights around. What other cons can you go to for such a cheap price?

Anywho, heres the website, www.all-con.org

I can guarantee one of the greatest times you'll ever have. I better see Ms. Divine Ambrosia at it this year as well!

Hoorah Marines...

I know two of us from the OK area are heading down and perhaps about 3-4 more from around the continental US.

I have enquired about a USCM fan table but I'm unable to attend the Friday due to work commitments and they do require an additional 3 3-day passes to secure it.

But fan table aside we should have a reasonably good sized squad on the ready line.

This now clashes with Dallas Con in Richmond on the 17-18

I've already spoken with the guys who run that one about some event planning for 2007 so now I'm wondering if it was done purposefully or not.

Its thrown me out of whack I can tell you that.

Why would they have done it purposefully? I know the guys who put on AllCon, and I know the reason it was started was cause there really wasnt an ALL genre con in Dallas. Its either ComicCon, or ScifiExpo. It would just luducris to do it just in spite...

No, Dallas Con dates were just announced and I'm wondering if they clashed purposefully or not.

When you go to make reservations (or change them if needed) use the codes SFC for 501st or ALC for non-501st.

In addition to a good con, dealers room, Burlesque (21 and up), and blow-out parties, etc. it looks like we're going to have a 501st Droid Hunt too.

I'll be spending the majority of my time as a Marine.

This is going to be a friggin' blast.

See you on the Ready Line.

All right Marines:

I may have found a way to get a club table at no-additional cost to anyone else. I can go ahead and secure the table, get our banner up on the club portion of the con website, etc.

I need to know if we will have enough Marines to have at least one person at the table at all times. Also, this being my first drop, I need to know what kind of stuff (about our organization) that we usually have on display.

Our other option is to invade without a table?

Thoughts and help are appreciated.

Well if I could have got a table I was going to bring:

Motion Tracker
Pulse Rifle
Flame Thrower
Laptop for video presentations (if power available)
Patches
Grenades
Other assorted BS

I'll be there Saturday and Sunday but not Friday and that was the problem I was having.

Awesome. I believe we'll be cool on the table. Could someone let me know which banner pic we should use on the Club section of the All-Con website? Email (tk_9163@yahoo.com) it to me or tell me which pic/where to get it from. We can probably scramble power from somewhere for the laptop.

I have a connection for a metal backdrop on which we can clamp shirts (I have "peace through superior"...and our USCM badge shirts), large pictures, banners and such. I was going to make a few print items to display for the literary types.

Ash, Gilmore, might need some help covering the Friday shift if you're available.

Jesse has kindly offered to let us borrow the USCM banner we use for D Con and Comic Con. I'll have that down on the Saturday along with my stuff for the table.
May come down Friday but doubtful with work.

Looking forward to see you again Eric, and Mike and whoever else :)

--edit--
Change of plan I'm afraid.
I'll be down to AllCon Saturday afternoon and will be there Sunday. We need to organise the usual USCM get together for dinner and drinks that evening. Anyone know the AllCon area enough to make some reservations? I just know the Plano area I'm afraid.

Well, with the above in mind, we might have trouble fielding the table during the open hours of the convention.

A suggestion: Maybe we just relax, invade, dinner and drinks, wreak havoc, etc. and pass on the table for this Con. Not being tied to a table might give us more exposure anyway.

I have volunteered to be part of Convention Security which will take me out of a portion of the weekend.

Your thoughts?

Flights & hotel booked. :D
Just need to figure which extra events to attend or do we spend our hard earned cash on liquor instead? 8)
Tony, your input please.

Well I've never attended an All Con so I'm learning as I go here. We'll be at Dallas Con on the Saturday morning and meeting up with you all later that day.

All I know is we'll have the usual Dallas Dinner Saturday night somewhere and go from there.

16-18th huh? Hmm... well considering I live about an hour from there, I should try to get myself out there to see you guys. When did it move to Addison, anyhow? I recall making it to the first one when it was over on Regal Row.
