The discussion of the Alien series of films and the props used in them is the aim, but if it's got Big Bugs and Big Guns, then they are welcome too!

Greetings, soldiers.

Thanx to a link on FNG's sites & this forum (a nod of gratitude to Tony (tonyandcherie), I learned of the USCM Charter. Having already known about the Star Wars-related costume wearing fan sites for the 501st & the Rebel Legion, I was wondering if there was a similar network for Alien Legacy / USCM fans around the planet. I'm glad I found it.

Still, I'm wondering how many more fans are out there not yet listed on the charter.

Just for kicks, I took a roll call / tally of the Charter:

Alaska = 1
California = 7 (includes 2 soldiers with no pic)
Colorado = 1
Florida = 2
Georgia = 3 (includes 1 soldier with no pic)
Illinois = 2
Kansas = 1
Michigan = 1
New Jersey =1
New York = 1
North Carolina = 1
Oklahoma = 3 (includes soldier Richard Berndt w/ no costume & young soldier Alex LaBoyteaux who looks to be about 11 years old?: "Why don't you put him in charge?!")
Texas = 5 (includes 1 soldier with no pic)

AND

Canada = 1

The Charter is inspiring considering it lists a total of 34 U.S.C.M.s. I think the Colonial Marines that are alone in their states [Alaska, Colorado, etc.] should be especially proud since it's tough to enjoy cosplay by your lonesome. [I know that the 501st here in Hawai'i has AT LEAST 10 members so they never have to "go Trooping" alone].

I'm going to keep my eyes on the Charter from now on, hoping its ranks will grow. I'm hoping to join y'all someday with my own armor & pulse rifle (not to mention other weapon additions to a costume).

In any case, I'm glad for this message board. Learned a lot about my fellow USCM fans & the state of the fan community today. I'm sure I'll have lots of questions for everyone as time goes on.

Best wishes,
sidemachine

I believe there are a lot more than 140 around the globe, just not all listed on the website. Hopefully the number will continue to grow over time.

Not bad for a 20 year old movie ;)

Quick update for you all with e-mail addy's on the website....

I took the initiative and encoded all the e-mail addresses on the website.
This will avoid any spambots harvesting your addresses from the website. I hate spam just as much as you all.

You can still click to open a new e-mail, but in the source code your address is not shown where it can be harvested.
Thank you Java!!

Also our 140th member just signed up. not bad :)

Thanks to Dave (dsw777), Mike (airborne mike) and Chris (testicle chris ;) ) for helping out.
Its really appreciated.

Added a nice introduction video in flash to the index page
It works for the majority but a few are having issues.
I believe this to be the lack of a plugin from Macromedia.
A link to the plug in has been added just below the video

Let me know what you think

New Intro Video

Looked pretty cool. Worked fine for me as I have flash installed.

Nice cut/paste of the camera footage.

Well....where has this year gone.

Just got an invoice from the hosters of the site asking for more money. As with previous years, I'm posting to ask if anyone would like to contribute a few bucks to help cover hosting.

Anything is appreciated. Thanks

Also, updates to the site are a more simple index page once entered. Added a little gallery for D*Con and group photos (need to update those to 07).
I also added a more in depth list of resources for armor, weapons etc with some pretty java script.

Up to 164 members now with still more out there. New guys, be sure to sign up!!!
