Hi, friends! I saw this post on the old Facebook and thought I'd share the scoop just in case there's any truth to it:

Quote:
To anyone that is interested I just found out that Hyatt rooms for Dragon Con 2015 go on sale tomorrow 9/4 at 10am est. The link isn't up yet. They are taking one night room and tax as deposit. Changes are allowed but will require a $50 fee. There were some cancellation notices as well but i didn't read all of them.

Let me tell you about my (and many others apparently) experience this year with the Hyatt.

I reserved my room with the Hyatt a year in advance. Three adults in one room. Two twin beds.

We arrived to find our room gone. Apparently the hotel overbooked. We were referred to a hotel ten minutes away. I declined and brought up the info that we we reserved a YEAR in advance because we had costumes that would be better suited in one of the Peachtree skybridge connected hotels. I was informed that there was only a tiny room with a SINGLE Queen bed on the 22nd Floor left in the Hyatt. I asked about a cot as there were three adults sleeping in this room and was told that "they normally don't do that due to the size of the room." I had no choice to accept due to our costume restrictions. (Again, I originally reserved a two bed room.)

As a "compensation" I was only discounted about $60.

I will not do business with the Hyatt after this insult and the idea that not only have they shorted their client base with these shady business practices but the officials behind Dragoncon are still demanding an explanation for these actions with no answer.

I say "Buyer Beware" when you reserve with Hyatt. This early reservation of rooms is an obvious ploy to shore up funds after the collosal FUBAR on their part this year.

I had some last year... were fine by me. Must be hit and miss... but seriously, they were nothing but fruit punch.
